Super excited to share the cover for my cookbook, Feed Your Neighbor, out March 2 (preorder link to come). This is not a cookbook meant to make you feel guilty, rather it’s meant to empower you to show up for the people in your life (simply!), to feed them first with food, with love as a byproduct. by @kamibratten

Had the BEST time helping @rhoades.lisa (artist, cook, and community gatherer extraordinaire) host a Feed Your Neighbor Brunch. I got to meet women who are making our community more beautiful

On the menu, from the cookbook:
*Irish Soda Bread
*Miso salmon
*Greek salad
*Herb water (two kinds!)
*Quiche

After the meal we made Banh Mi Sandwiches together for guests to bring to a friend, and Lisa made homemade honey butter for her guests.

Lisa gets it: that food is nourishing but what gives life is connecting together

My mom and I at the Yayoi Kusama exhibit last month. Kusama was bold, visionary, and a little bit nuts (in the best way)

I can only hope to be as bold, create as fearlessly, and forge my own path as true to her own self as she did taken in Louisiana Museum of Modern Art by @kamibratten

Look, sometimes you find yourself in KY, uncharacteristically out with a friend you haven’t seen in 15 years 2000 miles from home and you stumble into the #americancheesesociety Cheese Crawl and, though you haven’t had proper dairy in 5+ years, you decide to dig in, because it’s the nation’s top 20 cheeses, as decided by cheesmongers, and in a miracle that feels divine, your body accepts this cheese (and makes you question everything you’ve been avoiding for 5 years)

Tonight, Monday, July 6 at 7pm, we’re delighted to welcome Kami Bratten (Gayle’s former @aulamfa student!) and her giftable new cookbook, Feed Your Neighbor: Recipes for Delivering Love and Healing, which explores food as a simple yet powerful way to strengthen communities and relationships. The book focuses on meals designed specifically for giving—recipes that are nourishing, simple, and easily transportable, and offers tips on transport and advice on navigating sometimes uncomfortable social dynamics that come with feeding others.
