World renowned vocalist and pianist Kandace Spring’s most recent album, released in March 2020 on Blue Note
Records, is her most personal work yet. Entitled The Women Who Raised Me, it is her loving tribute to the great
female singers who inspired her to begin her journey towards becoming one of the premier jazz/soul vocalists of our time. The album will feature her unique interpretations of songs that she first heard growing up in Tennessee, and ranges from such classic icons as Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, and Carmen McRae, through 60’s legends Nina Simone and Dusty Springfield, and up to modern masters such as Sade and Lauryn Hill. taken in Wilmington, Delaware by @kandacesprings

Internationally Acclaimed Jazz & Soul Singer and Pianist KANDACE SPRINGS’ natural gifts for lyricism and soulfulness have earned her recognition as one of the premier female artists of the Jazz/Soul genre. Her refined mix of R&B, jazz, and pop has been showcased with ‘Soul Eyes’ (2016), ‘Indigo’ (2018), and ‘The Women Who Raised Me’ (2020), albums the singer, songwriter, and pianist has released on Blue Note. The first two projects both landed at number 2 on Billboard’s Contemporary Jazz Chart, while ‘The Women Who Raised Me’, garnered 5-star reviews from publications ranging from DownBeat to The New Yorker, as well as won the Deutscher JazzPreis for “Best Vocal Album” of the year.

Most recently Kandace released ‘Lady In Satin’ (2025), a recreation of Billie Holiday’s iconic, last great album. “Springs proves again to be one of today’s best voices,” raves GLIDE MAGAZINE.

“...her fluid pianism and emotive vocals soar in this setting.”
— DOWNBEAT MAGAZINE (Album Review of ‘The Women Who Raised Me’)
