Prince was a fan. And once you hear Kandace Springs at the piano, it’s easy to understand why.

The Nashville-born singer and pianist has a sound that doesn’t fit neatly into one category. Jazz, soul, blues, a little R&B. She draws inspiration from legends like Nina Simone and Roberta Flack, but what makes her so good is how naturally she makes the music her own.

She’s performed on stages around the world, recorded with some remarkable musicians and earned a following that appreciates great vocals as much as great musicianship.

On Saturday, November 21, she’s coming to Hollywood, and we’re getting to hear her for FREE.

Kandace joins an outstanding lineup at the Hollywood Real Jazz Festival presented by Sirius XM, alongside Ron Carter, Warren Wolf, Nicole Yarling and Chuck Bergeron. It’s a rare opportunity to catch this much talent in one place, right here in South Florida.

Jazz Spotlight.

Kandace Springs grew up in Nashville, the daughter of session singer Scat Springs. She signed with Blue Note Records at 24. Then Prince heard her and invited her on stage to perform with him. That’s not a career highlight. That’s a verdict.

She sits at the piano and commands the room without a word. Her voice does the rest. On a ballad like "The Nearness of You", that combination of stillness and power is everything.

Her 2020 album The Women Who Raised Me paid tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and Nina Simone. She didn’t imitate them. She stood next to them.

This is one of the most gifted musicians working today. Listen with the volume up.

There are voices you hear. And then there are voices you feel. 🎹✨

Kandace Springs ( @kandacesprings ) is bringing her unmistakable blend of jazz, soul and R&B to the Hollywood Real Jazz Festival this November.

A Blue Note recording artist, pianist and songwriter, Kandace has performed on stages around the world, from the Royal Albert Hall to the Newport and Monterey jazz festivals. She was also mentored by Prince, who encouraged her to trust her own voice and stay true to her artistry.

Her latest work, “Run Your Race,” is her most personal yet, inspired by her late father, Kenneth “Scat” Springs, and the profound influence he had on her life and music.

See Kandace Springs LIVE in Hollywood as part of an incredible weekend of jazz featuring Ron Carter and his Foursight Quartet, Warren Wolf, Nicole Yarling, Chuck Bergeron and more.
