Rarely make a post, so bear with me with this lengthy caption:)

I wanted to summit a mountain on my birthday to mark my half-century. This trip was never meant to be about celebrating me—I just wanted the usual Gunung Gang together again, creating another memory that will last a lifetime.

Huge appreciation to @yuanitaleisbuana and @ratihcsari for pulling off surprises we’ve never experienced before: a “wedding anniversary” lunch in an incredible forest setting, a sunset dinner overlooking the Mt. Batur caldera at 2,680m ASL (with proper glassware, no less 😂), and breakfast in the sky right after we summited Mt. Agung.

Standing on the summit was something special. Seeing both Mt. Rinjani and Mt. Raung on the horizon was surreal. I’ve climbed them both, but seeing them again from a completely different perspective made the moment even more meaningful.

Alhamdullilah. Here’s to 50.. not slowing down, just finding new summits and making more unforgettable memories.

*funfact - Jjay’s bday falls on 10, wedding anniversary on 13 and my bday 14 July so that’s
few wishes to make on the mountain hah

After several mountains across Indonesia, I finally felt ready for Rinjani. Huge thanks to Adri and Aci, who didn’t hesitate for a second, the response is always, “Hayuk.” And to everyone else who came along, you made the journey even more magical. Wouldn’t be a whole without you guys! I’ll never forget the tears of joy and the smiles on JJay and Dhani’s faces, moments that truly melted my heart. We made it together, as one team, one family, standing atop the most breathtaking mountain I’ve ever experienced.

Rinjani, you are something truly special.

Not all flea finds pass the test of time. With too many parts and components damaged, convert an old National portable turntable into a portable Bluetooth speaker with aux input.

Bicycle chain links serve as a flat bar to divert mounting points for new speaker as it is greater in watts. Stainless + robust = Win :/
