Missing the times when we could spontaneously pack up the bikes, drive to the coast, and sleep in the back of a Jimny. 🚲🏕️🌴

Haze-fuelled cabin fever has us reminiscing about weekends like these. We genuinely wish we could give the sun and t-shirt weather a proper send-off before the seasons change.

We’d spent that Saturday sharing stories and doing the usual weekend things when we decided, at the very last minute, to drive from KL to Port Dickson for a campsite recce with the @outsiders.bikes x @pedalmalaya crew.

Was it sensible to drive all that way for a few hours of sleep and a morning ride? Probably not. Would we do it again? Absolutely.

One last throwback to tropical mornings before we trade sandals and shorts for layers of merino. There’s nothing quite like the autumn chill to remind you that Southeast Asians are secretly solar-powered creatures. 🍁🍂

Kena kejar lembu siak 🤣🫪

60kms around my favorite beach house @villadepapan with familiar and new faces! A very different route compared to our last trip — this time we got: more flat roads, trees surrounding us, a couple of beaches and a splash of rain! Weather was perfect tbh 👌🏾 and I got a funny tan line from my shorts 🤣

The animal encounters, on the other hand:
kena kejar anjing ✅
kena kejar lembu ✅
elephant tracks ✅ which was pretty damn cool!!!
big ass bird nests on trees!!! ✅ also very cool
no snakes ❌ (only cables that looked like it)

We also BBQed TWO nights in a row 🤣😅 kept the best for last — tomahawk. But nobody knew how heavy it weighed 🤷🏽‍♀️

That time of the year when I get to see my favorite people, do my favorite things, and find myself in the most amazing places.

This trip was extra special as we celebrated @jjay_ali and @kang_acit_ birthdays and anniversary. They invited us to spend a week celebrating the things that often get lost in the rush of everyday life: kindness, friendship, laughter, and love.

My heart is full❤️

Thank you, everyone, for the beautiful memories, endless conversations, and shared adventures. Here’s to many more trips together. Until the next one 🤗

The initial plan was to ‘balik kampung’, but when the immediate fam couldn’t make it, we called up the extended fam from KL to join us. Had fond memories growing up in Kuala Kangsar. Nothing has changed, in a good way. The popular old stretch of food peddlers at the clock tower roundabout is long gone, but the charming, romantic essence of Bukit Chandan is still intact:) So much fun riding through Malaysia’s royal heritage while surrounded by some of Perak’s most beautiful rural scenery
