A HUGE MAHALO NUI to @jewlyhight @wpln & the leader of #OutlawsAlmanac @lizzie.no
・・・
America's 250th birthday is inspiring plenty of music. Much of it is triumphantly patriotic. A compilation called “Outlaws’ Almanac” drops on Juneteenth and reckons with the tougher parts of the nation’s history.

Executive producer Lizzie No brought together 15 artists to offer newly recorded originals and reimagined traditional tunes that place individual and collective acts of resistance front and center in the American experience.

“This album is a celebration of our survival,” she says. “It's always a celebration when you get a chance to define and expand the notion of us.”

Follow along for more from Jewly Hight. Tap link in bio for full story. Or check out the “An alternative soundtrack for America at 250” episode of This is Nashville.

I’m only posting about this now to honor everyone who worked so hard on this ep as well; mahalo to Michael Fahey for believing in me and my music & all the time & energy you put into making this happen! Mahalo to the band @juliobassmusicnashville @_camondrums @nick.larimore for seeing my vision on these songs, for becoming brothers. I’m so grateful to y’all.

Mahalo to the Bluebird Cafe cause I probably wouldn’t have gotten to this point if it wasn’t for them supporting me @bluebirdcafetn and giving me a place to sing these songs and finding who I am as a storyteller.

A HUUGE MAHALO to @wadecrescent , I honest to God wouldn’t be here without you. Without your constant belief and brotherhood, on the hard days and hard phone calls you’re always there for me when I need you. I don’t know how I got so lucky to have a friend like you and I’m so so blessed by you and your friendship and I love you dude.

Mahalo to my family cuz I wouldn’t be here without them & for Aunt Melindi & Jason, words will never say how I couldn’t be here without you 2.

@gibsonguitar MY OGs @bethyheidt @raevintonn @jennyrockcity since 2016, thank you for believing in me, supporting me & loving on me become who I am today as a guitarist & a man. I love you ❤️❤️❤️

A Huge Mahalo to the Recording Academy, Nashville Chapter & as a whole for seeing who I am and why I have to live this life of music 🙏🏾🫶🏾

Mahalo to @shellysurdoval for the invite, seeing me as a professional in the music industry with a mission in writing REAL songs that hit the soul, My life long passion for all of guitar as a ship to set sail on my dreams and my souls purpose to perpetuate the knowledge of the Kānaka Maoli/ Indigenous Native Hawaiian influence on Country, Blues & Bluesgrass music we know today!

The worlds first guitar heroes truly touring the northern americas were Native Hawaiian.

With that said, a huge HUGE mahalo to the two legends who were my Recommendations 🤓🙏🏾

My first mahalo goes to
@bethyheidt @gibsonguitar ; for the belief in my life long dedication to the craft of guitar and for becoming my Ohana, in my corner when maybe I didn't even believe in myself. I would not be where I am today if it was not for both Beth & Gibson and everyone at Gibson who's fought for my Music & Artistry.

My Mahalo must also go to @rissipalmermusic a legend in their own right as an artist, songsmith & a leader who has fought for all of us Country artists of Culture, the unheard, the unseen & those with a mission. Rissi made me feel seen & heard when I thought there was no space in Folk & Country for a brown kid from the middle of the ocean with a dream since I was 9 years old. Mahalo Nui Rissi , thank you to @colormecountryradio 🫶🏾🤓

This is the greatest honor I've received in music & only the beginning.
