We’re starting a new tradition. 🤍

Once a month, the kids get to plan the entire day.
The only rule? Within reason, the answer is yes.

This month’s agenda included a beach day, homemade meals, karate, movie time, game night... and approximately 37 hours of activities squeezed into one day. 😂

One lesson? Always check the weather before planning a beach day. 🌧️

Except... we went anyway.

It started storming, but instead of calling it a day, we embraced it. The waves were bigger, the beach was empty, and somehow it turned into one of the best parts of the day. A good reminder that sometimes Plan B ends up being the memory you talk about the most.

The biggest takeaway, though, was realizing how much life happens between the fun.
Cooking from scratch. Packing. Cleaning up. Driving. Managing time. Suddenly, “Can we just...?” came with a whole new perspective.

We didn’t check off every item on the list, and that was part of the lesson too. The goal wasn’t perfection—it was ownership.

I want my kids to grow up knowing their ideas matter, their voices deserve to be heard, and that freedom comes with responsibility. The best lessons aren’t taught—they’re experienced.

Last Monday at Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants was a very proud moment for me.

To stand amongst so many people and restaurants I’ve looked up to for years was incredibly inspiring, but what made it even more meaningful was seeing the progress of the team I’ve stood beside for the past 12+ months.

Moments like this are reassuring. They remind you that the long hours, the pressure, the constant refinement, and the smallest daily improvements all create forward momentum.

1% better every day.

Small increments eventually become major accomplishments.
