I always feel like I’m getting a late start when I make it up to Griffith Peak or Mount Charleston for the first time each year. Today was my first Griffith Peak run of ’26 and it was perfect — cool air, a little leftover snow, and miles of mountain silence.

It also marked the beginning of my third journey to the Dark Tower. There’s just something about climbing mountain trails with Stephen King in my ears that feels like a summer ritual at this point.
