This year’s #diwalicelebration was special. After a long time, it was celebrated with both my sisters at Arti Karandikar Bhandakkar’s house. It was even more special because it coincided with Baba’s (my father’s) Birthday.

It’s unbelievable! The news of my friend Prof. Sameer Khadekar's (Professor in Mechanical Engineering at IITK) sudden and very untimely passing has left us in deep shock and sadness. A cherished colleague always full of energy and enthusiasm. Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Om Shanti. Will miss you dear friend. by @karandi65

A momentous occasion for our family !
I'm delighted to share that my younger brother and IIT Kanpur alumnus, Ashish Karandikar (BT/EE/95), currently serving as the Vice President of Engineering at NVIDIA, USA, has generously donated to establish three endowment programs in Electrical Engineering at our Alma Mater Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
The programs include:
1. Smt. Lata and Shri K.G. Karandikar Faculty Chair, named in honor of our parents, is dedicated to empowering distinguished faculty member in EE.
2. Karandikar Best Ph.D. Thesis Award, designed to recognize and reward groundbreaking doctoral research.
3. Karandikar Student Scholarship, aimed at students eager to innovate in the field of electrical engineering.
As alumni who have pursued careers in the core area of electrical engineering, we are both deeply passionate about fostering academic excellence and innovation in this field.
We believe these endowments will significantly contribute to the growth and development of both students and faculty at IIT Kanpur, nurturing future leaders and innovators in electrical engineering.
I am indeed happy that Ashish and Deepali are giving back to our Alma mater.
