Middle East is on pause? No. Most people are just perfectly living their life and business is going on still online. When I think of this region, I think of laughter, freedom, late dinners, warm hugs, endless hospitality, and the most breathtaking sunsets.

For nearly 10 years, I have traveled through the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar. What I know is this:
It is vibrant. It is safe. It is full of generous, open-hearted people.

What you see on the news is never the whole story.

You must experience the people.
The friendships.
The views.
The food.
The spirit.

So I’m revisiting small pieces of beautiful memories I filmed over the years. Maybe you’ve seen some before. But these are my highlights and I hope my friends in Japan, America, Europe, Asia… everywhere — will one day experience this part of the world with their own eyes.

Some places welcome you.
Kuwait makes you feel cherished🤍

During COMFEST, I’m treated like a princess, surrounded by a level of luxury and kindness that still takes my breath away.

And somehow, every visit leaves me with something far more precious than beautiful memories…

I came back from MEFCC in Abu Dhabi on the 16th and headed almost immediately to rehearsals for Tokyo Game Show.

This year, we had 5 different locations to run during the Business Days and it was splendid.

What stayed with me most was the team.

So many young, brilliant, talented, multilingual staff members thinking on their feet, helping one another, communicating across cultures, and taking responsibility without being asked twice.

The whole time, I kept thinking: hats off to the parents who raised them🙌

And somewhere along the way, I realized I may be accidentally creating a new little community of my own. No I have my own convention family in Japan I guess lol

Each one is such a unique soul, and watching them meet, work together, laugh, and slowly get to know one another made me really really happy.

Also I would like to say……

Events come and go.
But sometimes, the people you meet become the best part of the story. And I believe it’s fate we met here.

I was thinking at MEFCC2026…maybe peace does not always begin with politics.

Maybe sometimes it begins much earlier.

I saw people singing along with songs the DJ was playing

Heard cute conversations in Artist Alley

Smiled seeing teenagers sitting on the floor with their friends, proudly showing each other the little treasures they found that day. So Kawaii.

I felt really happy

Everyone deserves a day like this…

Away from homework, jobs, family expectations, the news or from…

You know, especially when you’re young there are moments you ask yourself

How can I be better?

What does my mother want me to become?

Am I living up to my father’s expectations?

What should I achieve next?

I say, for one day…..forget about it.

Really.

Laugh till you snort.

Wear the costume.

Buy the ridiculous thing that makes you happy.

Sit on the floor with your friends.

Talk to someone you would never have met in your normal life.

Be excited about something without having to explain why.

You do not have to improve yourself every single minute of your life.

Sometimes you need a place where you can simply exist as you are!

And maybe, strangely enough, those are the moments that help us grow the most.

I have been coming back to this region for 12 years.

I came for work. But I kept returning for people who are making me happy and grow.

To those who founded me and shouted my name and hugged me tight. ARIGATO GOZAIMASU🥰

I want to tell my 15 years old self that your doing so good in life surrounded by wonderful people who loves you back and protects you.

Many people say they want to work for a big company.
And I truly respect that.
Behind that dream, there is always efforts (yours and your parents or whoever family paying) discipline, and years of choices.

But for those of us who choose the path of entrepreneurship, there is another kind of strength.

When we begin to notice our own abilities,
we can move an incredible amount of energy.
We can create not only something big, but something meaningful.

We hear this often on social media, but I still believe it deeply:

It is a waste of time to compare your life with someone else’s, or to spend your days trying only to live like the person you wannabe.

Feeling sad because you are not them, or convincing yourself that you have not worked hard enough, does not help you grow.

You will be spending time hurting yourself and trying to recover from the hurt.

The real question is this:

How long can you believe that you are special
before the world starts calling you special?

Do not look down on yourself.
Spend your time growing what is already good in you.
Talk to many people. Even to a stranger.
Listen carefully when they tell you what shines in you.

Because often, the things others notice in you
are the things they do not have themselves.
That is why they can see the sparkle so clearly.

Friends who shine beside you are precious, no matter how old we become.

Sometimes, I open doors that they cannot open yet.
And that has become my work:
supporting entrepreneurs as a startup consultant.

When you are young, do not overthink everything in your head. Move, do it and you might cry but that experience might prevent you from loosing something in the future
Try many kinds of work.
Meet many people.
Experience as much as you can.

Recently, knowledge from a job I truly disliked in my 20s helped me in a way I never expected.

It may sound like an overused phrase,
but I believe it:

Everything happens because it is needed.

The people you meet today,@the goodbyes that come tomorrow, even the work you do not enjoy right now….

as long as you keep moving toward your goal,
each of them will become a step beneath your feet.

And one day,
those steps will lift you higher. by @karentrepreneur

I’m really grateful to the people who stepped in and supported me recently.

Different backgrounds, different goals, but they showed up when it mattered.
That’s what real professionals do.

And it reminded me of something important.

Alignment and agreement are not the same.

Mistakes can be fixed.
Misalignment cannot.

No matter how talented a team is, things don’t work if what’s said and what’s done don’t match.

Saying yes in the room and then moving differently in execution is not support.
It is going ROGUE.

For me, a strong team is simple.

At the top, there is a vision.
Specialists support it.
And execution makes it real.

Everyone has a role.

You don’t need to speak before you understand.
But always share what you see.

Different opinions are welcome.
I might missing something that I don’t see and opinions enrich the work. But if you speak come with a solution.

So now once we decide, we move together. No exceptions.

Execution needs to be clear, consistent, and finished properly.

Even small misalignment, if ignored, slowly breaks trust.

And putting your personal preference over the process is not okay. If you want to do things your own way, build your own.

Working in a team means respecting the trust and responsibility that comes with it.

Thank you for all the beautiful messages on my 54th birthday.

Today, I’m spending time alone at a quiet, beautiful beach.

I know I have more freedom than many Japanese women my age.
I’ve always had an open heart.
I’ve never hesitated to live my life honestly — to wear what I love, to say what I feel, to be who I am.

But lately, I’ve felt myself slowly becoming… a little suffocated.

Catching myself thinking:
“I’m in my 50s.”
“Maybe I shouldn’t wear mini skirts anymore.”
“Maybe orange is too much.”
“Maybe I’m trying too hard to look mature?”
I realized… I’ve been here before. Being too nice loving everyone and loosing myself…

My life is cosmopolitan.
Open. Borderless. Free.

And yet, freedom is tricky.

When you chase it long enough,
sometimes… you begin to lose where you’re going

I know I chose this freedom.
And once in a while I have to adjust who I am and who I want to be with.

I love my life, but then you hear a voice
“Am I doing too much?”
“Is this really me?”

So on this trip, I decided to stop being “someone’s Karen” I chosen…

To go where I want.
To eat what I want.
To snorkel every day.

54 years old.
Grateful.
Curious.

If you work just to get praise, the effort turns shallow and you grow Ego. Then, even if you succeed, a lot of “compliments” are just politeness.

Work so you can be proud of yourself.
When you can honestly say, “I did well,” confidence shows up on its own. Then there’s no need to prove anything. And that’s when respect becomes real. If you live by the words of people who praise you for no reason, they can change their attitude quickly and turn against you.

Good example….

My boss friend the other day told me they wanted to quit most of their activities after being betrayed by someone they thought was a friend.

Yes, being a boss or leading anything can be lonely. You make hundreds of decisions…stupidly small ones, boring ones, hard ones and you still have to keep moving. And no praises for that. Only cold ironic rumors when you fail stand out more than good things you have done.

If you know some people will envy you when you win, and laugh when you struggle, don’t waste energy on them.

Just draw a quiet line in your heart.
Not everyone need to get access to you.

And people who talk badly about others often can only build “friendship” by sharing a common enemy. That’s the only way they know how to build friendship. And I guess majority of us graduated from that phase during our days in school. No need to engage but step back and create distance.
