At Loca Niru, past and present coexist through careful attention to space, material, and atmosphere.Designed by Keiji Ashizawa Design, the restaurant occupies the second floor of Singapore’s historic House of Tan Yeok Nee, a National Monument and the last remaining grand residence built in the traditional Teochew style. Within this richly detailed setting, the interior introduces a quieter language of muted tones, softened light, and natural materials.Subtle shifts in floor level and material expression define different dining settings while maintaining a continuous spatial flow. Loca Niru @locanirusg by @keijiashizawadesign is located within the historic House of Tan Yeok Nee in Singapore, a National Monument and the last remaining grand residence built in the traditional Teochew style.Set on the second floor of the more than 100-year-old building, the restaurant introduces a restrained contemporary interior within a richly ornamented heritage setting. Muted tones, natural materials, and carefully controlled light create a calm contrast to the architectural character of the existing structure.Karimoku Case furniture is placed in close dialogue with bespoke lighting crafted from Echizen washi paper, wood, stone, textiles, and artworks by Japanese artists. Extending its stay for the next months at @Dynaudio’s new Copenhagen flagship, the exhibition continues to offer a sanctuary for the senses.Presented in collaboration with Dynaudio and designed by @normarchitects, the space invites visitors into an environment where sound, furniture, and architecture are experienced as one. Case 03, Archipelago House, is a private summer house by Norm Architects set on the rocky coast of Sweden.Conceived as a contemporary refuge from the pace of the city, the house brings together the practical rhythms of family life with an architecture of clean lines, bright rooms, and material continuity. The main living space unfolds as a double-height room, divided at its centre by a large industrial kitchen island that anchors the plan and creates a natural gathering point within the home.Throughout the interior, direct visual connections to the landscape are paired with a more subtle dialogue of colour and material. Carefully restored, a 120 year old machiya preserves its original character while embracing contemporary living through thoughtful gestures, natural materials, and light.Rather than recreating history, the project allows it to remain present.
