Marathon ✅

I set out to do a marathon this year, and I have finally completed it. I felt more nervous coming into this race compared to my half marathon. My expectations of myself rose, and I had goals that were more than just completing the marathon. Like not walking the whole thing (I did walk under 500m) or doubling my half marathon time / getting less than it. I did soon realise, though, that completing the marathon was gonna have to be the main focus.

For fuelling, I went all natural. I made my own mango & maple syrup gels, ate pitted dates and homemade biscuits, and drank 100% fruit juice, water and salt.

The best part of the whole race was my family and friends encouraging me and praying for me the whole way. The reward of seeing them at the end was a feeling I cannot describe.

My husband @cambostock was the best support during the whole race, following me along where he could. He gave me the strength to push hard.

For me, a half marathon was nothing compared to a marathon. The mental strength and physical toll it took were upped tenfold. But I could just be saying that because I haven’t done an ultra yet. 😉

Thank you to those on here who also sent me PMs congratulating me. I felt so blessed.

And lastly, thanks to the team at @dubbelaus and my coach @abs_fittt for helping with my training.

For now, I’m going to take a break from training and see what I want to do next. But I hope everyone is encouraged to train for something and go for it!

I’ve been travelling a lot lately, and with more trips on the horizon, it felt like the right time to upgrade my backpack. ✈️🎒

What caught my attention about the blast travel backpack is how much it fits while still being carry-on friendly. I also love the suitcase-style opening and all the compartments that help keep everything organised (future me will be very thankful 😂)

Can’t wait to take it on my next adventure! 🌏🎒

If you’d like to check it out, use my code Karis10 to save on your purchase 💛

What an epic month on the road. We saw SO much, and drove SO many miles(on the wrong side of the road).

The national parks, the people, the food and coffee. All amazing and memorable. I love the US!

Now we are off to other continents; Karis back to Australia, and me to Europe.

I might be back to America very soon though. 🤩 taken in USA by @karisbostock

Half Marathon ✅ —> Marathon Next 0️⃣

WOW I can’t believe after training for the last 16weeks I finally completed my first half marathon and exceeded my own expectations. The goal was just under 3 hours (or just finishing) and I nearly did 2.5 hours which Im extremely proud of.

Still recovering but will be back to running sometime this week. Planning for my next big challenge… a marathon.

If you know any cool marathons that are in December please let me know!

Look I’m not the best runner out there, I could barely get those honey sachets down (literal gaging because I hate sweet food) and my shoes hiked Spain before they did the half (which is why my blisters were savage) and I accidentally set my @strava to a hike instead of a run ( which turned in my favour) but even then I still wanted to push myself to see what my capabilities were and showed up for myself.

Guide to the National Parks in Utah & Arizona 🌵🏜️

Zion NP – this was beautiful, but my favourite part was hiking The Narrows - a walk through water for 8km. It was such a refreshing experience, and I loved every second of it. (I think we did 3/4km of it.)

Bryce Canyon NP – come here for sunrise and get straight onto Queens Trail. It’s quiet, and the colours in the sky from the sunrise are unreal. It was nice to walk the trail with little to no one else there.

Capitol Reef NP – it was very hot when we got to this NP, so I didn’t explore to the end of both trails we started. The Grand Wash was my favourite trail due to the beautiful rocks that followed either side of us. Had a lovely swim in the stream after not showering for 2 days 😬

Arches NP – finally got to see an arch after my failed attempt from the day before. I feel like the photo doesn’t show how truly enormous this was. I was supposed to go exploring more while Cam did a run, but I didn’t and regret it now. I will have to come back.

Canyonlands NP – I wasn’t going to make the same mistake as I did at our last NP, so while Cam went running, I drove around and did heaps of the smaller trails in the park.

Grand Canyon NP – we drove from the north to the south side of the canyon. I did a run along the edge of it, and it was probably one of my favourite runs to date. Getting to see the view most of the time on the Rim Trail was incredible.

⭐️Bonus⭐️
Near Arches NP, just outside the town of Moab, there were two places I went that were so beautiful I had to mention them. The first is Corona Arch (front cover photo). This was amazing at sunrise, and no people were hiking that morning. It was a 4.5km intermediate hike (there were a few climbing bits).

And lastly was the Colorado River, which I ran along at sunrise, and it was so lovely.

We are exploring the West Coast next, so send me some National Park recommendations 😍 taken in Utah, USA by @karisbostock
