KH - Vinyl Collection - Vol.2 (🔥 Remixes that bury the original)I grew up in the blues/house party culture we NEVER did clubs we took over peoples cribs and charged u £5 to get in. So as a DJ bangers that moved our people was all we cared about (fuck a chart position). Remixes would bring a tune that we weren’t checking for (in that setting) and make the track pop off differently ina dance. Prime example is the Heltah Skeltah track, the original version woulda got boo’d if I tried to slide that in, but that REMIX tho, with that bassline fucked up every dance I played it inThe Roz track I (ironically) heard ina club I’d never heard it before then or since. That DJ fucked me up when he dropped it coz it came from left field, took me out. (Me) - @illflavarecords foundation picJudging by The Firm CD behind me, this photo was taken between 1997-98, about 2 to 3 years BEFORE I dropped my debut track “Don Gramma”. I remember, I started off by hanging up empty record sleeves on my wall, I would visualise filling those sleeves with vinyl of my released music (which I achieved). The records behind us are from my very first record label Assassin Records. I came in the game owning a whole other label And had already sold thousands of vinyl by the time “Don gramma” hit.
