One of the perks of being a graphic designer is that when your birthday party comes round each year, you can design your own birthday invitations based on your current mood! Sometimes it just magically takes shape - the colours, the textures, and somehow it magically just all comes together. But what's really cool about designing a "non-briefed" invitation, is that you can design whatever your little heart feels like designing, and no one can say "make the logo bigger"! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿผ What's even cooler, is that sometimes, if you really just sit back and "let it flow", you will end up with the most bizarre choice of elements all on one page: colours that don't match or compliment one another, fonts that don't follow any of the rules, basically design that doesn't follow any convention. And if that is reflection of your "present", then regardless of how it looks, isn't that beautiful? This design really is "all over the place" and a little like a packet of Liquorice All Sorts, some will hate it, some might even love it... And to me that's the definition of perfect ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ–ค๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’š by @karmaiscreative

/ B R E A T H E D E E P \ We're surrounded by so many distractions and people or things requiring our attention that we often forget to pay attention to and tune into ourselves. Ask yourself "How am I feeling? How is my breathing? What do I really want right now? What would bring me joy or calm"? Your body is the best barometer of finding these answers, all we need to do is pay attention to and honour our needs ๐Ÿ”ฎ๐Ÿบ #putyourselffirst by @karmaiscreative
Been quite drawn to red lately, and have come to realise it's actually one of my favourite colours! So here's another "bolder" colourway. Whoever came up with the daft rule that red and pink don't go together?! ๐ŸŒน๐ŸŒบ Do you prefer neutral, "safer" colours, or do love sporting colour and being bold?! by @karmaiscreative

I'm absolutely thrilled to present to you the new brand mark for @karmascreative ๐ŸŽจโœจ Interesting fact: the entire design for this new brand identity was created using my iPad Pro. The more I use it the more I fall in love with it! There's just something about it that bridges the gap between creating by hand and digital. A website refresh is also in progress ๐Ÿ‘€ by @karmaiscreative

I've been quiet lately, not just on social media but quiet in general. I've been feeling demotivated and uninspired. Not to menton confused about everything that's happening in our world today, and all the consumable information out there - it's tiring and overwhelming! Inspired by the book, Live Like a Monk by @jayshetty, which highlights just how hard it is for us to go inward, introspect, and act from a place of truly knowing ourselves, when we're constantly surrounded by so much distraction, and living in a state of reaction. That made a lot of sense to me and I could feel that I was in need of some silence. I took a 30 day break from all social media channels, and used instant messaging apps as sparingly as possible. After only a couple of days, I saw a major improvement in my creativity as well as my ability to focus. I also started paying closer attention to types of media consumption had a positive effect on me. I've been noticing a big trend in design and interior for neutrals, whites and organic shapes, and I'm *here* for it! I find this so calming and pleasant - like looking at this type of photo instantly soothes my anxiety - and I can only imagine that physically being in such a space would have the same effect! I would love to try weave this "calm" into my design work somehow, to spread and share these soothing vibes with as many people as possible - because it seems we could all use a little extra calm these days ๐ŸŒฑโœจ by @karmaiscreative
