NOTHING EVER DISAPPEARS, the fourth
exhibition by frau reim, explores the mysterious force we call fate, or fortune — a swarm of possibilities constantly evolving and circulating between us and in our universe. it rests on a simple premise: when the conditions of possibility are present, anything may happen.
but are these conditions purely arbitrary, or can they be bent?
faced with the unstability of our existence,
we have since untold times invented stories, rituals, organised religions to explain our own creation and that of the world at large in an attempt to communicate with a hypothetical universal force.
these spiritual calls to an immense, indifferent universe may seem futile, yet answer a profound human need to feel connected to the unknown, and
perhaps thus regain some influence our own fate.
NOTHING EVER DISAPPEARS explores our
relationship with the universe, with the perpetual transformation of nature, and with our own shifting selves. It traces how everything that has ever existed leaves residues within us, carried forward as matter and memory, endlessly
recombined into other forms, other beings,
other worlds.
NOTHING EVER DISAPPEARS ventures into
the cavern of everything we must simultaneously absorb and forget in order to become ourselves. in this first episode, five artists present works exploring the territory of chance.

alex and john gailla reveal the miraculous
reappearance of family photographs destroyed in the fire that consumed their childhood home in 2015. (Pic4 & Pic2)

alexine chanel plays god through the use of the ai oracle: a stack of anonymous portraits retrieved from a wastebasket years ago in budapest are arbitrarily dealt a name, a place and date of birth, and a life story. (Pic3)

karø goldt’s site-specific photographic installation *vault of vanitas IV* refers to ancestor worship in the broadest sense. animism and aspects of shamanism are explored visually and go beyond

HAPPY FACE / UGLY CIRCUMSTANCES

Closing event: 6 September, 3 pm – 7 pm

Featuring works by Jutta Eberhard, Saeed Foroghi, Ingo Gerken, Alex Lebus, Caro Mantke, Carolin Martin, Matthias Mayer, Irina Novarese and Sylvia Schultes (sound art).

In these turbulent and calamitous times, we are repeatedly faced with the dilemma of choosing between self-improvement and regeneration, or participation in public and political life. Political disputes are being fought more fiercely, the tone is becoming harsher, and friendships are breaking down.

The exhibition explores conflicts and contradictions. The works of the 10 artists highlight this tension from various perspectives and address critical situations, ambivalences and discrepancies.

On 4 September 2026, the 19th Lange Nacht der Bilder will take place in Lichtenberg.
From 5 pm to midnight, the BLO studios will be open, featuring a host of exhibitions and performances both indoors and outdoors. I’m really delighted to be part of it. My large black-and-white photographs will be displayed outdoors.

Karø Goldt has been working with the medium of artistic photography since 1993 and with the medium of experimental cinema since 2001.

Goldt’s video works are animated from digital and analog photographs. Goldt’s artistic methodology approaches the question of pictoriality and time through the mediums of photography and film. Among other things, Goldt questions the socio-political and ethical dynamics of society and the psychology of the individual within a group.

I’m really delighted to be showing two video programmes next weekend. It’s an open-air event, with drinks and music before and after. The venue is brilliant, and the videos are fantastic! The RONDELLprojectspace is a new experimental art venue on the grounds of the B.L.O. Ateliers, hosting exhibitions, film screenings and performances curated by Zoltan Kunckel. I’d be delighted if you could come!!!!

Mit Arbeiten von Jutta Eberhard - Saeed Foroghi - Ingo Gerken - Alex Lebus - Caro Mantke - Carolin Martin - Matthias Mayer - Irina Novarese - Sylvia Schultes

In dieser Zeit voller Unruhe und Katastrophen steht man immer wieder vor dem Dilemma, sich zwischen Selbstoptimierung und Regeneration oder der Beteiligung am öffentlichen und politischen Leben zu entscheiden. Politische Auseinandersetzungen werden härter ausgefochten, der Ton wird schärfer, Freundschaften zerbrechen.

Die Ausstellung verhandelt Konflikte und Widersprüche. Die Werke der 10 Künstler:innen zeigen dieses Spannungsfeld in ihren Arbeiten aus verschiedenen Perspektiven und verhandeln kritische Situationen, Ambivalenzen und Diskrepanzen.

Thanks to everyone who came to the opening and the concert during the heatwave – it was scorching hot and nevertheless super cool! Thanks to Hannelore for the absolutely brilliant concert… Tom really struggled with his wig whilst playing the guitar… We didn’t leave anything out, we didn’t cut anything short. A huge thank you to Henrik from the Kultur Palast and to the two artists, Irina and Markus – you’re all brilliant!
