Finally finished with this piece!

All of my surface focused pieces like this one follow a circuitous path. Some work out just fine, without too much coaxing and others feel like an eternal work in progress.

This dude was in its “work in progress”phase for quite some time, but some friends fell for it pretty hard pretty early on, and rooted it on through the final stages. Surround yourselves with “work in progress” cheerleaders! They make the hard moments easier. by @kasiazudou

I read today that sometimes artists move forward in the art world because they simply have the audacity to do so. Sometimes posting on social media feels audacious.

I have a lot of backlogged work that I have been sitting on, so perhaps you’ll see more of it soon. by @kasiazudou

First NCECA on the books! After almost 20 working in ceramics, I—as a birthday present to myself—treated myself to this enriching experience full of new ideas, inspiration and adventure!

I’m so glad this group turned out!

More often than not, I like to chances with my work, and in doing so, I have many more fails than successes. My object ‘hospital’ is pretty full these days. by @kasiazudou

This October 18th-19th, please join me at the 29th Annual Gowanus Open Studios! Hosted by Arts Gowanus, Gowanus Open Studios is Brooklyn’s biggest celebration of local art and artists. Hundreds of artists across dozens of venues in the greater Gowanus neighborhood will open their doors, giving the public a rare glimpse inside the former factories, warehouses, and studio buildings of this vibrant neighborhood. I’ll be on hand to discuss my work, share my process, and showcase my latest projects.

I’ll be showing at Makeville Studio @makevillestudio with Bridget Conway - bridgetconway.cargo.site
Kyle Jorgensen - kylejorgensen.org
Miska Draskoczy - miskadraskoczy.com
Jonathan Blum - jonathanblumportraits.com
and the amazing Robyn Mierzwa - robynmierzwa.com. Thanks for hosting us, Robyn!

There will be printed maps of the event available across the neighborhood, but if you want to start planning in advance, you can find a directory of all the participating artists here. Hope to see you there! by @kasiazudou

Hey y’all! I’m in a show! A selection of my sculptures will be out inhabiting a park in South Slope this Saturday 11-4 in “Art of Trees”, an exhibition curated by Alyssa Fridgen. Come by and sit in a park and look at art with me.

Summer’s over and it’s time to get back into the studio!

I love when the turquoise glaze we make at the studio turns this honey color when it is applied thinly. by @kasiazudou
