This year at our Gala, we will be auctioning off works by artists including Daniel Zeller, James Hannaham, Stephen Mallon, Juan Pablo Plazas, Mark Masyga, Monica Duncan, Beatrice Wolert, Mike Estabrook, Kasia Zurek-Doule, Barbara Campisi, and more! Our art auction offers an opportunity to support Open Source while also collecting valuable artworks from both emerging and established artists. All art included in the auction will be displayed in person during the gala.

Our annual gala and art auction provide critical funding that sustains the organization. We not only present dozens of programs for the public each year, but also employ a staff of over 30 teaching artists and professionals, offer free education programs in underserved communities, and support over 75 artists annually through production budgets, fair wages, and curatorial services. We need your help to continue to support artists, empower kids, and provide transformative experiences for all!

Sean Qualls is an award-winning, Brooklyn-based, children’s book illustrator, artist, and author. Qualls’ books and illustrations often explore history and non-fiction subjects. His fine art focuses on race & identity and the intersection of history & mythology, ultimately examining how we create our own identities or allow them to be scripted for us.
