Hier soir, nous avons eu l'immense privilège d'assister au gala de la Fondation québécoise des vétérans, quelle soirée exceptionnelle!

Un immense merci à son directeur exécutif, LCol Jonathan Audet, ainsi qu’à toute son équipe pour avoir orchestré un événement d’une telle qualité. Chaque détail témoignait de votre dévouement et de votre professionnalisme.

L'hommage rendu aux vétéran-es de la Seconde Guerre mondiale et de la guerre de Corée a été #tout #simplement #magnifique. Voir ces femmes et ces hommes réunis dans la salle, entourés de la reconnaissance qu'ils méritent tant, était profondément touchant. Leur courage et leurs sacrifices continuent de nous inspirer et de nous rappeler ce que nous leur devons.

Cette soirée restera longtemps gravée dans ma mémoire.

Merci d'honorer ceux qui nous ont servis. Lest we forget / Nous nous souviendrons.

A Martini moment at Dukes Bar, St James, London 🍸

If James Bond were to sip a Martini, this is where he’d take his seat. Dukes Bar, tucked inside the elegant Dukes Hotel in London, is a true institution for lovers of the Martini and of British refinement. Hushed ambiance, impeccable service, and a sanctuary of the classic cocktail.

We didn’t get to meet the legendary Mr. Alessandro Palazzi, the bartender who keeps the tradition of the perfectly served Martini alive. It was his day off! But we did meet the Decibel Divas and spent a wonderful evening with them, their lovely parents, and our London friends.

The Decibel Divas are a sister duo of amazing DJs, and when they come of age, I’m calling Tommy Cardeli, owner of STEREO MONTREAL, to book them for a gig! 🎧✨

The Dukes Martini
Prepared tableside, never stirred or shaken, and served ice-cold without ice:
🍸 Ultra-chilled gin or vodka
🍸 A whisper of vermouth
🍸 A twist of Sicilian lemon

It’s said this is where Ian Fleming found the inspiration for 007’s famous line, “Shaken, not stirred.” A legendary bar where every sip carries a piece of British cocktail history.

🎖️ Le Club universitaire de Montréal est fier de présenter la troisième visite de notre série dans un régiment historique de Montréal : cette fois, chez Les Fusiliers Mont-Royal!

Notre hôte et guide sera le capitaine Julien Dancause, PMP, officier de liaison et responsable de la visite. Officier de l’infanterie aux Fusiliers Mont-Royal et professionnel certifié en gestion de projet, le capitaine Dancause conjugue une solide expérience du leadership militaire à une expertise en gestion, en gouvernance et en développement organisationnel.

Il a occupé diverses fonctions de commandement, de planification et de coordination, notamment lors dun déploiement en Lettonie dans le cadre de lopération RÉASSURANCE de lOTAN. Il est actuellement commandant de peloton et contribue à la préparation opérationnelle ainsi qu’au développement des futurs leaders de l’unité.

Au ministère de la Défense nationale, il œuvre dans les domaines de la gestion du patrimoine et des projets stratégiques. Il est aussi président de l’Association Québec-France Montréal, membre de l’Ordre souverain militaire de Malte et vice-argentier du Bailliage de Montréal de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.

Formé en lettres françaises et en théâtre à l’Université d’Ottawa ainsi qu’au Cours Florent à Paris, il porte un intérêt marqué à la culture, à l’histoire et au patrimoine.

Nous avons créé ces visites dans la période qui précède le jour du Souvenir afin de rappeler à nos membres et à nos invités de penser aux vétérans plus d’une fois par année, et de faire découvrir la riche histoire militaire qui se trouve ici même, à Montréal.

It was a real pleasure to finally meet Faith Rhodes, COO and Canadian Market President, Marconi, at the recent Cercle Canadien luncheon in Montréal, where I had the honour of representing Le Sentier-The Trail.

Faith has been at the heart of one of the most interesting stories in Canadian defence this year: the May 2026 launch of Marconi Technologies as a Canadian-owned defence prime, reviving the legendary Canadian Marconi Corporation name right here in Montréal. The company now oversees dual-use military communications systems, including ORION radios and ARCHER troposcatter terminals, with a strong veteran-led operations focus.

Her path is just as impressive. An HEC Montréal alum, Faith previously served as Vice President of Programs at Ultra Intelligence; Communications, where she was selected for the European Advent Leadership Academy cohort in partnership with Harvard Business School. Before that, she worked at EY-Parthenon and CAE.

Given Marconi's veteran-led approach, there's a natural connection to Le Sentiers' mission of supporting veterans as they transition to civilian life. I look forward to continuing the conversation and exploring how we can connect the defence, veteran, and community ecosystems here in Quebec.

Congratulations to Faith and the entire Marconi team on this exciting chapter!

An evening of honour, heritage and hope for the next generation. It was a privilege to launch the Black Watch Legacy Campaign earlier in Montréal, and we could not have asked for a more meaningful start. We were deeply honoured by the presence of His Excellency, the Right Honourable David Johnston, 28th Governor General of Canada (2010 to 2017), and Chair of the Black Watch Legacy Campaign, whose support for this campaign and for the values it stands for means so much to the Black Watch Foundation, to the Regiment, and to all of us who care about its future.

Last week, the Le Sentier team had the honour of attending the 8th edition of the Barry F. Lorenzetti Benefit Gala, held at Maison Principale. More than 400 guests gathered for a spectacular evening inspired by the sparkling spirit of Paris. Thanks to the incredible generosity of donors and partners, the evening raised #one #million #dollars. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this tremendous success!

Bravo to Opéra de Montréal — or, as I like to call them, one of the jewels in Montréal’s tiara — for a spectacular presentation of Puccini’s Turandot last night. ✨

Congratulations to the entire team for an extraordinary evening. It was particularly wonderful to see Jean-Pierre Primiani on stage delivering the opening address.

And a heartfelt thank you to Pierre-francois Poulin for the kind invitation to attend.

Some works of art entertain us. Others stay with us long after the curtain falls.

Puccini’s Turandot is one of those works.
It is spectacular, haunting and deeply human—a story of power, fear, love, sacrifice and the possibility of transformation.

What makes Turandot even more poignant is that Puccini never finished it. He died in 1924, leaving the final part incomplete. At the 1926 premiere at La Scala, Arturo Toscanini stopped the performance where Puccini’s own composition ended, marking the moment with the unforgettable words:

“Here the opera ends, because at this point the maestro died.”
The traditional ending was subsequently completed by Franco Alfano.

There is something profoundly moving about an unfinished masterpiece. Perhaps because life itself is rarely resolved as neatly as we would like.

Turandot reminds us that behind power there can be fear, behind strength there can be vulnerability, and that love and compassion can sometimes be more transformative than force.

What a privilege to experience such a magnificent work in our own city.

Bravo Opéra de Montréal. Bravo to the artists, musicians, creative team and everyone behind the curtain who brought this extraordinary work to life. 🎭❤️

C'est un honneur d'avoir assisté ce matin au petit-déjeuner de la Chambre de commerce du Montréal métropolitain, où l'honorable Mélanie Joly a pris la parole. 🇨🇦
Mon principal constat : « le plan pour diversifier et pivoter ». Un message important pour le Canada, et tout particulièrement pour nos PME, qui sont au cœur de notre économie et appelées à s'adapter dans un contexte mondial en pleine transformation.
J'y étais à titre de représentante du Sentier – The Trail, et j'ai eu le plaisir d'échanger avec de nombreuses personnes inspirantes, toutes engagées, chacune à sa façon, pour le bien du Canada.
Ce fut un privilège tout particulier de rencontrer M. Stéphane Dion, diplomate, fonctionnaire et universitaire canadien de grand renom.
Ambassadeur du Canada en Allemagne et envoyé spécial du premier ministre auprès de l'Union européenne et de l'Europe de 2017 à 2022, il a contribué à approfondir la relation du Canada avec l'Allemagne et à faire progresser les intérêts canadiens à travers l'Europe, au bénéfice des populations des deux côtés de l'Atlantique.
Auparavant, il a été ministre des Affaires étrangères de 2015 à 2017, défendant le leadership canadien dans le monde : promotion des droits de la personne, efforts de paix et de stabilité, lutte contre les changements climatiques et engagement indéfectible envers le multilatéralisme.
Chef de l'opposition officielle de 2006 à 2008, il fut aussi ministre de l'Environnement de 2004 à 2005, période durant laquelle il a présenté un budget salué comme l'un des plus verts de l'histoire du pays. En 2005, il a présidé la conférence des Nations Unies sur les changements climatiques (COP11/MOP1), parvenant à concilier des intérêts divergents pour mettre en œuvre le Protocole de Kyoto.
Ministre responsable des Langues officielles de 2001 à 2003, il a conçu et lancé le Plan d'action pour les langues officielles, encore une référence aujourd'hui. Enfin, en tant que ministre des Affaires intergouvernementales de 1996 à 2003, plus longtemps que quiconque depuis la Confédération, il a joué un rôle de premier plan dans la promotion de l'unité canadienne. by @kat_coric_official
