I acquired this gorgeous painting by Montréal artist @yunuschkirate at a charity auction. It makes me happy. I call it 'Douce masculinité féconde'. Thank you @kat_coric_official for the opportunity !

Over the last twelve years of his blossoming career as a portraitist and now sculptor, Yunus Chkirate has developed a platform whereby he uses his art as a teaching tool. His themes, often universal, reach a higher consciousness, and thus may be considered as painterly conduits for socio cultural healing.

A recent example of Chkirate's artistic journey may best be illustrated in the masterful “Portrait of a Helper”, an interpretation of a study by Louis de Boullogne
(19 November 1654 – 2 November 1733)The subject matter represents a repeating theme in Chkirate’s main body of work.

An exhibition is a very important milestone moment for any artist. I think with #JOURNAL, Yunus has shown us exactly what he is capable of. The last 12 years have been incredible. Looking forward to the many big projects we have on the horizon.

@fuguesmag were the first to publish my art in 2011. Over the years I’ve developed a close bond with their team as they have been very supportive with many published articles since then. To be on the cover is truly an honour, and I'm extremely thankful to Yves Lafontaine for this highlight in my career

🔥🔥🔥
Exactly one year ago, Yunus put the first brush strokes on a series of paintings that he knew would be daring and unashamed. The result is a collection of over 15 paintings and 10 sculptures, his best work yet.

Here I stand with my trusted partner and “Smartist” Yunus Chkirate as he announces his next solo exhibition “JOURNAL”, launching in Montréal on October 5, 2022.

👏👏👏
