In the olden days, making plans meant surviving dial-up screech just to drop an AIM away message in neon-yellow Comic Sans.

Time to step away from the screen! For ten years, we’ve been archiving our community’s culture, laughs, and core memories. Now we’re taking the party IRL to celebrate a full decade of keeping it real. Check the link in our bio, grab your tickets now, and we’ll see you on August 8th!

What was your iconic AIM screen name back in the day? 👀 by @katcarridobonds

The era of modified Honda Civics + underground zines + early online message boards + and impeccable style. The 1990s didn’t just give us great style… it gave us a collective voice built completely from the ground up.

In the 1990’s, before social media, we were carving out our own platforms out of pure necessity to connect. We came up in that Legacy, and we keep on keepin’ it. For the past 10 years, This Filipino American Life has carried that exact same independent mantle; building an audio living room to archive and share our community’s everyday experiences of immigrant love and diaspora strength. So let’s celebrate.. In the spirit of THE 90’s Dust off your oversized fits, grab your crew, and meet us on the dance floor.

As 2025 came to a close, so did my time on staff at the extraordinary Homeboy Industries. A blessed adventure. It’s truly an amazing place, like no other, made so by the people who walk through the doors, and keep these doors open for all to find connection, nourishment, healing, belonging, community, and hope. I’m forever changed by and connected to the Homeboy family, wherever I go. Thank you for everything! ❤️ by @katcarridobonds

10.25.25. Labor of Love at the Ford Theatre Los Angeles. And Larry Itliong’s birthday. A true labor of love and a vision, a dream come true, which these amazing artists made possible. I am so deeply and incredibly grateful. More reflections to share in time, as the world continues to turn and move, while these memories take root in my heart. Thank you @beauryan for these beautiful 📸 captures. taken in The Ford Theater by @katcarridobonds

A celebration of folks striving to uplift our communities, telling our stories, fighting to redirect resources for the most vulnerable. The night was a bit surreal especially witnessing one of our greatest orators and freedom fighter, @brotherjones_. Thank you, @pilipinodems. Cheers to the very generous hostess, to our friends, and to our community.

And cheers to @tfalpodcast! Who knew the platform would have such an impact. Missed you @arwyayen! by @katcarridobonds

I’m so excited for this show. I love these artists because they are so rooted in community. Each of them has lifted my spirits and energized me to continue to work toward justice, equity and liberation. And they all put on one hell of a stage show.
This concert is inspired by the solidarity formed by Filipino and Mexican/Latine farm workers who led the Delano Grape Strike, which started 60 years ago this month. They remind me that we are powerful and can make change when we work together to change things for the better. The show is called labor of love because solidarity and endeavoring to work together, is indeed a series of acts of love. Come to the Ford on Oct 25 and let’s gather, sing and dance together.
