Everyone needs a little chicken snuggle in their life.

This little man was rejected by his mama REALLY young, and then he took a little bit to warm up to us and now, he comes running when he sees us, wants all the snuggles, and just loves being with us.

Say hello to Rooster - yes, promptly named to go along with Annie, another orphaned chicken (and Molly and currently Lily, but she might be Sandy… or Miss Hannigan)

If you want cuddly and friendly chickens, you have to start them from chick. Slowly, learning that food and safety comes when human arrive.

Fun fact: chickens can remember faces (and objects like your car). Just like turkeys can remember up to 30 faces!

Love our chickens - all the hens and roosters.

What’s something you’d love to know about chickens?

This as so special to see today. Mama was out with her two other new babies (as it was way too hot to stay in the box) and this little one I go to watch hatch - and share with you!

This one has the “sign” it should be a girl, with the dot on her head…. But if you know chickens….. time will tell. 😂

What do you think we should name this one? Need both boy and girl names, as I said, you never know till they crow or pop out an egg 🤪 taken in Walton County by @kate.flemister

Six months from today, we’ll be flying to Vancouver to sail to Alaska.

And today? I’m taking my first flight since February 2020.
My first time leaving the U.S. since May 2021.

That feels surreal to even type.

The last few years were paperwork, waiting, green card approvals… all of it. So boarding a plane today feels symbolic.

And here’s the funny part.

We always joke that we only planned to live in the RV for six months.
You know… “just six months.”
Which somehow turned into almost five years.

So when I say this cruise is six months away, I laugh a little. Because apparently six months can mean a lot of things in our life.

But this one? This six months is going to fly.

This Alaska sailing isn’t just another trip. It’s our first true vacation as a couple since 2019. It’s taking our parents for their 80th birthdays. It’s marking a long season — and choosing celebration on the other side of it.

September 20–27. Nieuw Amsterdam. Inside Passage.

Glaciers. Fjords. Wildlife. Space to breathe.

If Alaska has been sitting in your “someday,” let’s not let this be another five-year “six months.”

Book a call with me and we’ll talk through whether this sailing is right for you.

You know where I’ll be in 6 months! 🧡 💙 taken in Atlanta International Airport - Concourse E Gate 5 by @kate.flemister

Miss Mabel… you are some kinda special.

She will scream and shout and jump all around our house trying to get in when she needs to lay an egg.
Then we have to either go sit with her or lock her in the coop until she lays.

Today I had time to sit with her. She sat on my lap purring as I pet her for a good 30mins before she got up and needed to be under my arm to lay her egg.

She’s one of the babies we got in late July and not sure what her breed is, but she cracks me up!

What’s the weirdest thing your animals have done? (Chicken or otherwise)

The time has finally arrived!

The first of 4 Green Cards in our house 🥳🥳

For those who have prayed for us, encouraged, helped, supported - thank you!!!
It’s been a looooooooong “6 months” (5yrs) but things are finally falling into place.

I’ll be heading back to Ontario at the start of March with Mike for my Aunt Ann’s celebration of life and grateful that it will be possible.

It can only keep going up from here! Next steps, get out of the camper!!

Praise God for keeping us protected and provided for the last 5yrs. Because He spoke thru you, we were ok. So grateful for the many many many believers and faith-fuelled families we’ve met along the way. taken in Covington, Georgia by @kate.flemister

Truly is the little things in life that really add up.

Our church, @crossloganville has this saying “life is done better in circles”. Meaning getting together with small groups within the church to really get to know each other and truly develop relationships.
From small groups/Bible studies on Wednesdays, relationship focused ones on Sundays, the sisterhood for women, utilizing @kozwalton thru our church for boys, and this event: Come to the Table. I’ll be honest, I didn’t fully understand what it was until it happened.
Just a small group, ideally no more than 10 people (I flipped that by having our Canadian friends tag along since they were visiting), and enjoy time together over a meal.
The loudness, laughter, silliness… my soul needed this so much more than I realized. Still trying to find place in a new community of people, as the new ones, as the “outsiders”, as the odd ones out… it’s been a challenge to find space to feel this again.
What’s interesting, Diane, who hosted with her husband Rob, was one of the first people I met and she instantly invited me to a white elephant last Christmas.
I’m grateful for this church we call home, as we work thru finding our place inside and working like we did with our Ontario church family and finding our groove… I’m grateful.
I’m grateful how much they really push (or as Pastor Tim would say.. lean into) getting involved and really being part of the body of the church not just the worship time on Sundays, and encourage chatting and staying after (yes, we still find ourselves chatting almost an hour after service ends with others, like we did in Ontario). To truly feel part of the community of your church, YOU have to put in the effort to make the connections and not just run out after the final benediction (or announcements, or song..).
What I can tell you, after nearly 5 years of trying to find a church home… we feel we’ve found it.
And with that, I’m so grateful for moments like these where we can gather and fellowship over food.. like we did at our Mennonite church too (no, not that kind of Mennonite).
Many blessings everyone - find your church, imperfections like we all have, and all! by @kate.flemister

Because-tradition!
I love how many of you message me and ask if we’re doing IKEA, and how many see the posts and say “must be your anniversary” 😂
20yrs! I can’t believe it!

What’s been a little heartbreaking is hearing people say-congrats! Oh wow, 20yrs, you don’t see that much anymore…
In a culture of -if it’s not to my standards, throw away and get a new one… same goes for relationships, apparently. (I get there are exceptions).
Based on the advice so many of you gave, I can tell so many of you are in it for the long haul, knowing not every day will be a perfect-romcom-day, and still choose to stay married.

Happy 20yrs babe! taken in IKEA by @kate.flemister

After four years of traveling and wandering and never feeling quite like home… we are finally putting roots down.
We’ve connected, thru our church @crossloganville with The F.I.S.H Ministry and have been volunteering there almost 3x a week to help make lunches. This ministry is amazing! They remind me so much of the Mennonite Relief services back in Ontario that we were very involved with through our church.

This church has been so welcoming,
this ministry has been so welcoming,
this community has been so welcoming.

I guess this area is now home.

Never had Georgia (especially Atlanta area) on our radar… but as the bio says, God’s got the wheel, wherever that leads.

(Glad our friends took on this introvert and her family and shared their space). taken in Faith In Serving Humanity (F.I.S.H.) by @kate.flemister

Four years.
Today marks four whole years since we crossed into the U.S. and began this chapter of our story.

On May 29, 2021, we left a dear friend’s farm near Ayr, Ontario and drove to Cam-Am RV in London to get a few lights fixed on our brand-new Grand Design Imagine 3250BH. The kids and dogs played in the grass while we waited, not fully grasping how big of a day this would be.

By mid-afternoon, the rig was ready — and we hit the road toward the Port Huron/Sarnia border… in winds that, let’s be honest, I’d probably avoid now with more towing miles behind me. We pulled into Duty-Free for a deep breath, a bathroom break, and one last moment of courage before the big leap.

The border was still closed to leisure travel, but we were entering for school/training with paperwork in hand. We were allowed through. No visa. No I-94. Just a data entry and a green light that changed everything.

White knuckles released. A shaky photo snapped. We made it.

We stopped at the first rest stop to fully exhale—then made it all the way to Indiana and spent our first night at a Walmart, already realizing our setup was just shy of semi-truck length. Welcome to RV life in America.

Four years.

If you’ve been with us a while, you know it’s been anything but easy. But through the hurdles and heartache, we’ve seen God’s provision show up time and time again — always a roof, always food, always safety. We've met incredible people, some for a season, some for a lifetime, all placed with purpose.

This journey isn’t over, but it’s one that clearly reflects His goodness. In His time. For His purpose. To His glory.

Thank you — whether we’ve met face to face or only through messages, your prayers, support, and presence mean more than you know.

Four years. Wow. taken in Ayr, Ontario by @kate.flemister

2017 me and 2025 me are two very different people. It’s incredible to know that a transformation doesn’t always require physical change, a lot of it can be emotional, spiritual, mental…
I love 2017 me-she was trying so much and excited about things. She was a good mom (at least I hope so in their eyes), a good wife, a good friend.
But 2025 me, I don’t wait for the world, I don’t want for the world, I don’t blame the world, I don’t try to change the world.
I do for my family and for God.
2017 me thought in 5yrs we would have upgraded homes, upgrades our vehicles, gone on many vacations, maybe upgraded my career (but always wanted a farm).
2025 me has lived in under 300sqft for nearly four years, downgraded vehicles, lived a life of vacation and visited places that I thought we might never and have been “unemployed” for four years.
But 2025 me is beyond grateful! Because we have truly learned to live with less, on less income (sometimes zero), and live more. While we don’t go out often, we don’t dine out often, we live very simply (like a folding chair couch gets me excited) we have been spoiled with friendships, support, guidance, help, and always having a roof over our heads, food in our bellies and clean clothes to wear.

I posted in my story about the “No” or the “wait” seasons that God puts us through is for our growth and wow-yes, thank you Lord!

I am not the same person. taken in Batesville, Indiana by @kate.flemister
