Officially a @nike athlete✔️

This means a heck of a lot. I finished my university eligibility nearly four years ago and transitioned into professional running without a sponsor (as most Canadian uni athletes do). Since then, I’ve represented Team Canada five times and became an Olympian. I’ve also found myself on the start line countless times as the only unsponsored athlete in the field.

Over the past few years, that reality shaped how I approached the sport. The mindset has evolved as the goals have changed, but the approach hasn’t: show up and put in the work. This mindset has extended beyond the track, where I’ve been working as an engineer to support this dream. We made it work. I’m now incredibly proud to have signed a professional contract to keep building my running career.

Huge thank you to my wonderful agent Ciaran @3milesports for helping to bring this dream into reality.

I’ll be kicking off 2026 racing @worldxcchampionships in the Mixed Relay tomorrow! Let’s do it.

Olympic debut⚡️

Gave it everything I had out there and I’m really proud of the way I raced. While it wasn’t the result I was hoping for, the Games have been the experience of a lifetime and I’ve learned so much throughout this journey. We’ve added fuel to the fire and we’re only just getting started❤️‍🔥

The support I’ve received leading up to the Games has meant the world to me, thank you all🫶🏼

Not my season❤️‍🩹

Finished up the end of a long and frustrating season in Germany. This was far from the season I had envisioned, but there’s some lessons in here somewhere (ie maybe don’t cook yourself at altitude and spend the summer injured & ill). Despite losing a chunk of training mid-season, workouts in August had been going well but reality was we just ran out of time to put all the pieces together.

Body and brain are in desperate need of a complete system reboot so I’m gonna go have a drink and touch some grass✌🏼

Commonwealth Games ‘26

Lining up at an international championship knowing you’re not at your best is a mildly terrifying experience, but I’m proud of how I raced and competed with what I had.

This season has presented a few more obstacles than anticipated. Two weeks before the championships we weren’t sure I’d make it to the start line. A month before that, I couldn’t walk without pain. Lining up healthy and happy was a massive win, but wow would it have been nice to make it to the final.

But! I refuse to let four weeks of cross-training go to waste, so now that both achilles have finally agreed to cooperate, we’ll see if we can squeeze a few more races out of this season🕺

There is a profound blessing in finding the one thing that makes your soul feel alive. For many, that thing is running.

In a chaotic world, running offers a rare and beautiful sanctuary. A few miles in, the noise of daily stress fades away, replaced by the steady rhythm of your breathing and your feet hitting the ground. It is a moving meditation that clears the mind and brings absolute peace.

But when you pour your entire heart, mind, and body into that passion, the horizon shifts.
If you are lucky enough to find that spark, and brave enough to give it everything you've got, that simple path can carry you all the way to the grandest stage on earth: the Olympics.

The ultimate reward isn't just reaching the Games; it's who you become along the way.

@kate_current makes it official ✔️

The 2025 season marked a series of milestones for Cobourg, Ont.’s Kate Current. The 27-year-old secured her third consecutive spot on Canada’s national team in the women’s 1,500m, lowered her personal best to 4:02.79, and now, she’s taken another major stride—signing her first professional contract with Nike Running.

For Current, the deal carries special meaning. She still remembers racing in Nike’s Zoom Victory spikes as a junior athlete, long before she dreamed of running professionally ❤️
