57kg WORLD CHAMPION.🥇

i want to start by saying that representing team USA is always an absolute honor, and with that i already felt like a winner going into this meet.

317.5kg @ 56.45kg
squat - 107.5kg / 237lb🥉
bench - 80kg / 176lb🥇
deadlift - 130kg / 286lb🥈

i am genuinely shook. i prepped for this meet with a pretty severe back injury, and could only compete with what i was able to pull together in 8 weeks. nowhere near my best international total, which is a tough pill to swallow, but given i have been injured since january, did no squats or deadlifts for an extended period of time, and lifted throughout prep and on the day in pain, i am incredibly proud of myself. i gave what i had, and it was enough.

placing 11th at worlds in 2024, bombing out of nationals in 2025, failing the pull for the win at north americans in 2025, an injury that practically forced me to start over. i did not ask for the obstacles i faced this past year, but they happened nonetheless, and with that i did my best. i did not give up, and that is why i am here and why i am deserving of this title. it is truly a dream to be able to call myself a world champion.

this injury has taught me so much, mostly that powerlifting isn’t the whole point. i am happy, but not BECAUSE of powerlifting. i am happy, and powerlifting ADDS to that. my injury taught me that i should never base my self-worth on powerlifting. we are so much more than our sport. to anyone reading this who might be injured, struggling with a loss, or struggling to realize their worth outside of powerlifting, know that i see and hear you, and that it WILL get better. this meet to me is proof that your win will come when you least expect it, and that everything truly does happen for a reason. 💗💗 taken in Sun City, South Africa by @katelyn57kg

my sub-junior journey is something so incredibly special to me, and i still can’t believe it ends with me becoming a world champion🥹🇺🇸

i love this song because it reminds a lot of my time in the sub-juniors. at worlds in 2024, i couldn’t enjoy the moment i was in, and could only look ahead for the next “mountain i could move.” what was my next accolade?

my off season following worlds in 2024 was spectacular, it felt like everything was always going “up-hill”, until i i bombed out of nationals then injured my back pretty severely in the off season to follow. i lost over and over and over again.

i had to take a step back. these failures and my injury in particular reminded me of why i started lifting and what truly mattered to me. i didn’t miss “winning” the most, i missed my normal, day to day training and the little wins. i started to realize that i didn’t care how long it took until i achieved a certain result or hit a certain number, i just wanted to train normally again. i had really taken for granted how much i enjoyed the little moments.

my mindset for worlds prep was built on gratitude for even being able to train for this meet. i didn’t care what was “waiting on the other side” i was just happy to be progressing towards normal training again, and to have another chance at worlds. i already felt like a winner going into the meet, and i told myself that over and over again during the meet.

being a world champion feels surreal, but i already had everything i needed to be proud of myself because i was finally lifting for the right reasons❤️🤍💙 taken in Sun City, South Africa by @katelyn57kg

still can’t believe i’m a WORLD CHAMPION🥹🥹 a dream-come-true ending to my sub-junior career💗💗

it’s hard not to acknowledge that i’m not proud of the numbers i put up, but lifting with a back injury and very little rehab done was incredibly limiting, so i’m very very proud of my performance and the outcome!! can’t wait for my junior debut after a lottt more rehab😘😘 taken in Sun City, South Africa by @katelyn57kg

a day late, but in about a week i will be competing at my second junior world championship on august 21st in the 57kg sub-junior class🇺🇸🇺🇸 i will be competing at 9am EST / 3pm locally, and will be posting the livestream link a bit closer to meet day!!

training has been very quiet this prep, as i’ve been building back from a very difficult back injury. nonetheless, i am super proud of what i’ve managed to pull together and i am beyond grateful i get to hit the world stage one more time in the sub-juniors💕💕

i placed 11th at my first junior world championship back in 2024, let’s see what i can pull off this year🇿🇦🙏 taken in Sun City, South Africa by @katelyn57kg

don’t know what i’d do without these tiny people on my phone🥲🥲

this has been my best prep and best meet by far. not just because of the outcome, but because my mindset surrounding training has grown tremendously. there is so much in this sport that i cannot control, but i do know for sure that i won’t be going anywhere🤍

don’t count me out😉 taken in Titan Barbell by @katelyn57kg
