This exercise was fun! I saw it recently, so I copied it (why not?) so I asked ChatGPT: 👉🏼 “Based on everything you know about me, what am I not telling my audience that they should know?” I admit, the mirror it held up was accurate!! Give it a go. It could be hot air but we used to read horoscopes soooooooo (and also, I really like mine!) Report back though! I want to know yours, tag me! ☺️🌈💛 #AuthenticMarketing #CoachingJourney #WholeHumanWork #LeadershipCoach #YogaForRealPeople #ChatGPT 📸 every single shot by @withpassionandpurpose ☺️🌈 by @kateoateselevate

Two professional services. One human 🫣 I’ve been a bit blurry and directionless on the whole ‘keeping coaching on LinkedIn and yoga on Instagram’ thing. I thought it was the right thing to do. Neat. Tidy. Separate. But life isn’t neat, tidy or separate is it? We’re as human as the last day when home affected work, or work affected a holiday, or a multitude of other conflicting examples that reflect life. My clients aren’t separate people. My yoga clients talk about work post-flow. My coaching clients talk about their bodies mid-session. The crossover is constant. I avoided that out of confusion of how to articulate it, and kept in my lanes (ahem, social channels). I was doing to myself what I spent years watching workplaces do to people: boxing them into one version and leaving the rest at the door. ARGH! So I’m done with that. Me, personally, I desperately needed both yoga and coaching long before I offered both professionally. The two needs weren’t separate; they were all connected. I’m a corporate coach who might mention your breathing. A yoga teacher who understands that work conflict affected your mood. An ex-comms planner of 19 years who still hasn’t nailed the comms split on her own business. (The irony is not lost, people!) I’m not confused. Maybe. But am a whole human! So I’m done splitting myself to make it easier to categorise (at least, I’m trying to be done so I’m putting it here and hoping peer pressure will help me). I know I’m not the only one though. Are you hiding part of yourself at work? Which part? Drop a 🙋 if you get it…. (I’d be lying if ‘two services’ was the truth, let’s be honest. I can throw out a full comms strategy with gusto and get involved in customer journeys and data inputs. I can also guide you safely into a freezing cold lake as a cold water therapy instructor. We really aren’t just one thing, are we? Why stop at two to be frank… I’m digressing….) #kateoateselevate #coachingandyoga #wholeperson #executivecoaching #Yogateacher 📸 Lucky enough to have fab pics by TWO talented ladies, @withpassionandpurpose and @megkerr_photo (now I’m regretting the selfie or two in there!! 🫣) by @kateoateselevate

My stepdad thinks I’m a life coach 🫣 There’s nothing wrong with life coaching, it’s not reflective of what I’ve been doing all these years, nor what I spent £000s and time training in! He’s only had ~3 years of my self-employment to catch on to the business I gave up employment, a salary and an IT dept for, and - get this - the services for which he’s been submitting my tax returns 😆🫣 (for which I’m incredibly grateful because finance bores me to tears). Someone you know will sing your praises in a room where relevant chat comes up, yet for three years - gratefully yet eye rolling - he’s been filling air with the wrong info 😆 (Back in my London days, mum kept saying I worked at media.com, when I’d worked at MEDIACOM 3 times over 4-5 years 😆🙃) I wholeheartedly admit, the assumption of how people receive “she’s a yoga teacher and a life coach” rub me up the wrong way because of my own assumptions….. yes, I’ve got my own coaching reflection to do, I’m working on it…. I’m a yoga teacher and an Executive Coach. Harder to package up but reflective of where I’m adding value to the planet, a human-person-in-leadership at a time 🌎 🎙️ Which allies have got your business wrong? 🎙️ Which ones grate on you, and why? 😂 What GOODIES come up for you here? #Misunderstood #SmallBusinessAssumptions #KateOatesElevate #Coaching #Family 📸 Today me + recent words from an EXECUTIVE Coaching session 🙃 by @kateoateselevate
Optimal functional breathing isn’t just about breathing. It’s about all of the other functions it influences, which layer up to affect our lives every single day 🫁 Nervous systems. Digestion, absorption of nutrients. Sleep. Mood. Stress. Acidity of our blood (yes, really!) Energy levels. Psychological (& physiological) safety. Our breath is so constant we take it for granted yet our breath is EVERYTHING. Don’t take yours for granted. Get to know simple everyday tools that you can use every single day, in a world where the stressors only get more plentiful and the space to pause only gets more elusive ✨ My new class is designed to fit into the week, to create an appointment to breathe, on purpose, and learn a handful of breathwork techniques that you will have, literally, forever. Calming (mostly), you try a bunch and you will always have them. At the very least, you’re booking HALF AN HOUR a week for yourself, and for your nervous system. • New class | STARTS TUESDAY 3rd NOV • 🫁Brilliant Basic Breathwork class 💫In-person (with appetite online) 🫁Tuesdays 9:30-10am 💫Small group, calm setting, all learning styles catered for 🫁Venue: @lunawholebeing Mellor Road, Cheadle Hulme, Stockport 💫£90pp for 7 consecutive weeks BOOKING LINK in bio | Join me 🫡 #breathworkclass #regulation #newclass #cheadlehulme #stockportwellbeing by @kateoateselevate

Maybe I should be telling you to clean your mat after every use… But if you’re like me, I get home, go see the fam, mat discarded! We’re human 🫠 But our mats still need a clean and half-term-breaks are a great time to do it! 🧼 Here are my YOGA MAT CLEANING TIPS ⬇️ 🧽 Sticky mats: Washing machine, no soap! Simples. Wash + hang it out to dry thoroughly.
OR, just use a wet cloth with a really small drop of washing up liquid. Scrub both sides, rinse (shower, hose pipe or power hose all work), then leave to dry fully. Voila. 🧽 Rubber mats: (pictured) These need a bit more TLC! Genuine rubber is great for grip under your palms, but it’s sensitive to detergent. ❌ No abrasives, no washing up liquid.
I use a homemade cleaner of: ✨ Warm water ✨ Tsps baking soda ✨ 1 drop essential oil (peppermint, this time). 1️⃣ Spray gently, wipe over. 2️⃣ Wipe over again with a totally clean, damp (not wet) cloth. 3️⃣ Let it dry thoroughly. ‼️ Whatever your mat, WASH BOTH SIDES! When you roll it up, the back touches the front: floor on face. Bah. Considering a rubber mat? ⬇️ My mat came from a brand that no longer exists. But it’s AWESOME. However, if I were to buy a rubber mat again, I’d get a DARK COLOUR because it’s so natural that dirt clings/is hard to shift. 🧼 Not got time today? Save this + return to it for when the urge hits (or it gets to the point where you won’t put your forehead down, whichever comes first!) No judgement here folks! Back on the mat Monday 2nd November. No mat inspections planned…. 😉 Ps. Spaces available ~ JOIN US! (Practise with me in a group class, a November WORKSHOP (or two), or your very own 1:1 SESSION. All info in link in bio or just ASK me about it. No salesy-faff. Just the options (🔗🔝) #YogaForRealLife #RealYoga #YogaMatTips #CleanYourMat KateOatesElevateYoga by @kateoateselevate
THEY SAID WHHAAAAAT? 🎙️ After 6+ months of coaching, I asked him what he’d noticed as a result of the work we’d done. This surpassed my expectations and shows you never truly know unless you ask! This leader’s words broke my game face (ok who am I kidding, but I grinned!) The leader I rate is one confident asking for help. Who makes room for others. Whose confidence can be quiet yet positively affect everyone in the room. Research on psychological safety says when leaders admit what they don’t know, their teams speak up more. Pair that with the confidence you already have in your expertise, and you’re on solid ground. Boom 💥 A great leader often has an authentic confidence that people gravitate towards. But don’t ask me about BELIEF as the foundation of it, because I don’t yet have a slide for that 😆 📸 These are real words from a Head Of / Senior Leader I’m currently coaching, on-site, 1:1, for their own growth, at a stage in their career where feedback is minimal and leaves nowhere to grow. Im sharing clients’ words (with permission) on the outcomes of our coaching every week for the next 7 weeks / until I run out of slides-I-made-on-Canva. Jokes aside, this is evidence of coaching’s power ~ if there is someone in your world looking for support at senior level for DIRECTION, CONFIDENCE, finding blind spots & being a credible, safe space to deeply THINK, grab me. This is my patch and I adore working with these brilliant people. ‘Space for Leaders’ is my 1:1 coaching for excellent senior experts wanting to grow in their leadership. I’d love to talk about more! #CoachingOutcomes #SpaceForLeaders #ElevateCoaching #Testimonials #SpaceForLeaders by @kateoateselevate
