Last week, it was announced that @huskerflagfb will begin its inaugural season in 2027, which was originally scheduled for the spring of 2028.

6 years have gone by so fast. Since you’ve been gone, life hasn’t slowed for a moment and I wish you were here to see it.

Liz and I have won five national championships. Five. I can hear you now.. so proud, laughing, saying we should’ve won six.

And Nebraska… the kind of opportunity you believed we’d reach long before we did. Some days it feels like you nudged the doors open yourself.

You were a girl dad before anyone called it that….showing up, believing big, teaching us we could do anything. The confidence we carry now is yours.

I miss you in the big moments, but just as much in the quiet ones. The calls, the laughs, the way you would’ve reacted to all of this.

I hope we’re making you proud. I think about you every day.
Love you forever, Dad.

Life is short. Answer the phone when someone you love calls… you won’t get that opportunity forever by @katesowers5
