If only the little girl who started playing football in kindergarten could see this moment. Through every season, every challenge, and every step of this journey, the love for the game never changed. Now I get to take that same love to the University of Nebraska. ❤️🌽 I want to thank my parents for all the sacrifices they’ve made for me and for being by my side through it all. I want to thank my friends and family for their support and never ending love throughout this journey. I also want to thank my coaches, especially Coach Smith @__livingtheeantlife , for believing in me and guiding me. Thank you to Coach Liz @lizsowers3 and Coach Katie @katesowers5 for this amazing opportunity. Lastly, I want to thank God for giving me strength through each challenge I’ve faced. Go Big Red‼️

I’m trying to be the best coach.” — Katie Sowers 🏈 In 2020, Katie made history as the first woman to coach in a Super Bowl, on the San Francisco 49ers sideline. Her work helped open the door. Her visibility helped another girl imagine walking through it. At kick[gl]ass, we celebrate the women whose talent, determination, and contributions continue to move football forward. 💥 Who’s a woman in football who deserves her flowers?
