Not long til the exhibition closes @wollongongartgallery but all the works on show are also available for sale! Part of the proceeds of all sales goes to help fund the awesome @burntdirt residency program! Works…such a this one 😉

Corked Vessel 6 of 13! ❤️ The forms were thrown by @naomieburn and glazed by @potting_along 🥰and I think all the parts just work so well together!

As part of the BD residency, each artist was invited to step beyond their individual practice and collaborate on a shared ceramic piece, working alongside our skilled studio technicians. Serving as technical partners and creative facilitators, our technicians provided key material expertise, firing guidance, and specialised crafting skills to help bring these ambitious concepts to life.
This collection presents the extraordinary results of those exchanges, a dynamic series of object collaborations where distinct artistic voices, technical mastery, and shared experimentation intersect.

Well…it’s been an AGE since I’ve been able to get in the studio! Very happy that today I’ve managed to finalise this series. I ended up removing a few pieces and it’ll be a floor or long plinth install so it can be very aerially. I’ll post some detail shots in my stories! 🥳

Tidal Pool
2026
Reclaimed Pallet Timber, mahogany, thorns, lacquered beads, resin
265 x 56 x 7cm
Tidal Pool continues my interest in expliring the microscopic. This series, carved predominantly from reclaimed pallet timber, reimagines microscopic marine life through small timber and mixed-media sculptures. Inspired by Haeckel but shaped by instinct, the forms highlight how perception is always skewed. By enlarging the unseen, the works invite viewers to consider both the ocean’s hidden ecosystems and the filters through which we observe them.

Set out the “final” layout today and then quickly realised it just doesn’t feel right. It’s not done. 😕 few more pieces needed

Today’s insanity ..but kinda therapeutic once you get into the swing of it 😉 I’m tacking these in with a little wood glue and once this central area is dry I’ll fill in the sides with cut bits and then fill the lot with resin

A VERY quick session this morning to try and get most of these little bits in. I want to fill in the gaps with cut up bits, but ran out of time ⌛️
