First home game in Newy since 22’ ❤️💙

Not the result I wanted for my darling but gosh it feels nice to be back. I’ve missed the energy this stadium brings, nothing like it! ✨

And for those wondering about my choice of colours today 👀 I was once a little Māori girl who used to turn the tv on every weekend to watch my favourite team, the Warriors. My family would sit up on the North Hill every Knights vs Warriors game just to catch a glimpse of them. I will always pay homage to that and I will always be proud of where I come from 🌿 by @katestobbs

We owe everything to them. They gave us stability when no one else could. Housed us, fed us, loved us. Wouldn’t be here without them 🇼🇸 by @katestobbs

Defied all odds my darling. Went through back surgery, played a whole year in Cup, had pec surgery, moved back to Newy, got foot surgery that could’ve been season ending… Now here we are. At an NRL Grand Final. The journey looks different for everyone but wow. We really did that ❤️💙 by @katestobbs

Look around us bby!!! We made it!!! 😭❤️💙

Last night was never about the result. Nothing can take away the fkn phenomenal week we’ve had, seeing the community embrace this team and watching Sami be a part of it. That’s a blessing. To be on the field playing. IN A GRAND FINAL!!!! I was raised in our beloved Maitland, Sami was born in Belmont. We know what it means.

What life has thrown at us hasn’t been fair. We endured more than we should have both inside and outside of footy. Those who have walked alongside Sami on this journey know the fkn shit he’s been through. What an incredible human you are my darling.

To think three years ago a back injury almost took this away from us. Since then he’s had surgery on his pec and his foot, and he still made it here today.

We stand here because of the people that came before us. The generations who gave us our names, strength, culture, and our roots. I hope they know how proud we are to carry them with us.
