I don’t know why 25 seems to hit so differently than 24 or 23 or even 20, 10, 1…. And maybe it doesn’t for everyone.

Maybe it’s because I’ve lived a little more than half my life since and “landmark” dates have a way of putting things in perspective. There was life before Tuesday, September 11, 2001 and for many of us there has been life after but they are not the same. The impact was obviously immense on that day for so many and it’s impossible to know all of the countless ways so many have been impacted since.

It’s heartbreaking to revisit so many stories from that moment at the same time as it is heartening to see so many stories of connection that have occurred and come to light in the decades since.

September 10, 2022 was a day of great personal loss for me and it’s as hard to believe that was four years ago as it is to believe it’s been 25 since September 11, 2001. What I do believe is that there is value in remembering and taking that with you as you move forward. There is exponential value in collective healing and community is so important. If you havent already, give a listen to Good Grief, the newest album from @sarabareilles - it couldn’t be more timely. Take care of yourself and give your people a hug in person or virtually- whatever you can do! ✌️🫶 by @katewillson

48 hours in Seattle and the PNW…what a dream! ✨

Checked off a few bucket list items: Saw the sights of Seattle for the first time, complete with a visit to @thewildrosebar and a trip to T-Mobile park for a Mariners home game!

Then a trip out to @gorgeamphitheatre which might be the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen for Night 2 of Echoes in the Canyon for Sara Bareilles, Bonnie Raitt, and the birthday queen herself, @brandicarlile . Thank you Brandi for being born and bringing the most incredible talents together to put on a show that was the experience of a lifetime for everyone there. The Joni tribute at the end was just exquisite. If perfection exists…

Every year it’s hard to describe the power, community and heart in the room. I’ll simply say you had to be there. If you have never experienced a Cycle For Survival reach out and I’ll make sure we get you on the team for ‘27. What an incredible day.
