I first discovered Globidens while researching marine animal tooth morphologies and immediately fell in love. This mosasaur had round, bulbous teeth specialized for crushing, making it a fascinating outlier among its relatives.

The issue was that the only good reference material for Globidens is either fragmentary or squished.

So, I made my own! I 3D-modeled this guy from scratch using the holotype specimen as a reference, filling in the missing pieces with Prognathodon references. It took about a year of work, collecting and studying specimens, consulting with other marine reptile specialists and hours and hours of modeling.

But it's so satisfying to see it finished!

I want to thank @dinosaur_skeletons for helping make this guy look perfect 👌🏼

This will probably be my last Dinosaur Provincial Park exploration for a while. I had hoped to spend more time out there this year, but ongoing health challenges have kept me from doing many of the things I love.

I pushed myself to make one final trip, not knowing when I’ll have the chance to return.

Dinosaur Provincial Park is one of the most carefully protected places in the world, and access is only possible under the guidance of park staff. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been given the opportunity to experience what I have over the past four years. It truly is one of the most remarkable places on Earth, and I hope it will always remain protected.

Here’s a little sneak peek into the process of sculpting Globidens! This mosasaur was a weirdo—built for crushing shells with its round, bulbous teeth instead of tearing into prey. That’s exactly why I love it! It took me over a year to bring this oddball to life, and I won’t lie—there were moments when it looked squishy and downright bizarre. I wasn’t sure it would come together, but I’m beyond happy with how it turned out!

Now I think Gobstopper needs some fan art 🤔
Maybe @gogo_mrdodo is up to the challenge 😈

I have no idea how I’ve been lucky enough to see the Sue Puppy in three different museums!

Royal BC Museum (2023)
Field Museum (2024)
Museum of the Rockies (2025)

This life-sized Sue replica, built by the talented team at @bluerhinostudio , brings Sue to life with incredible detail, including injuries. The model includes a juvenile Edmontosaurus in the jaws, reflecting what may have been on the menu.

Right now, Sue is on a world tour, currently stopping at the Museum of the Rockies before moving on to the next destination. It’s been incredible to see this replica in so many different places.

I love this sculpt it feels like she's asking you to throw the carcass like a puppy would chase a ball.
