Peru with Konnex -
This trip will go down as one of the most special adventures of my life without a doubt. Each day brought either a new perspective, connection, memory, or all of the above along with so many laughs.

A couple days before leaving I spoke with my friend Hannah and I told her that while I was unbelievably excited I was also scared. It was daunting, knowing I had signed up for a 10 day sleepover with a group of people I hadn’t met. I was nervous of the possibility that I wouldn’t make friends or that it would feel forced, but she said something that really stuck with me. She told me that being in the same place at the same time as someone else is enough of a reason to connect, and that our lives crossing paths is already beating the odds. That conversation helped shift the focus away from myself and towards the chance to observe, be present, learn about people around me, and immerse myself in a new culture and an entirely new environment.
On this trip I tried to be as open as possible, which led to conversations and reflections that I didn’t know I needed. I was emotional at the end (and while writing this) because i don’t want to lose that feeling. I’m starting to recognize that the time being limited was a big part of what made it as meaningful as it was. We had no time to waste by pretending, and we made the most of every moment. It was vulnerable and warm and human. I will take these lessons with me as I continue to grow and experience all that this life has to offer.
