#Sigiriya, the majestic rock in Sri Lanka, holds ancient mysteries.

King Kashyapa once decorated his palace with frescoes of celestial nymphs and among them was Alanka — the most beautiful, with dark silk-like hair and eyes reflecting the night sky. One night she appeared to him and from then on he saw her every night in his dreams, as if she danced on the walls.

Alanka brought him peace and spoke of stars and spirits inspiring Kashyapa’s ambitions. But one day, she vanished. Her image faded from the frescoes returning to the heavens.
Legend says that if you look closely at the frescoes today you may catch a glimpse of Alanka’s gaze, alive for a moment, just as it once was for her king

Король Кашьяпа украсил свой дворец фресками небесных нимф и среди них была Аланка — самая красивая, с волосами, как темный шелк, и глазами, отражающими ночное небо. Однажды ночью она явилась к нему и с тех пор король видел её каждую ночь в своих снах, как если бы она танцевала на стенах его дворца.

Аланка приносила ему покой и говорила о звездах и духах, вдохновляя Кашьяпу на великие дела. Но однажды она исчезла. Её образ исчез с фресок, возвращаясь в небеса.

Легенда гласит, что если долго смотреть на фрески, можно увидеть взгляд Аланки, который на мгновение оживет, как когда-то для её короля

Elephants in Sri Lanka are like ancient heritage, a symbol of strength, wisdom and freedom. Every moment spent alongside these majestic beings is a reminder of the importance of preserving and protecting the wild world
