Whatcha doin Sunday? 👀 I'm very excited to be heading to Lefty's to sit as a judge on the Brisbane heat of Passport to Airlie.

A bunch of emerging Brizzie bands will be hitting the stage to put their best on show, showcasing their original tunes *and* competing for a spot performing at the Airlie Beach Festival of Music - which I'm very excited to be checking out for the first time this year. Sounds like a rip snorter.

They're also giving away THREE festival passes as lucky door prizes so if you come along for some FREE live music you might also walk away with a full festival pass, how good!

BIGSOUND 2026, what a week! 🎶

SCMIC headed down to the Valley last week with two things on the agenda: creating opportunities for our local artists, and making sure the Sunshine Coast music industry has a seat at the table.

Our SCMIC representatives spent the week making new connections, strengthening existing ones, talking to people from across the national industry and, of course, spreading the word about all the exciting stuff happening in music up here on the Sunshine Coast.

This year, SCMIC was also able to provide BIGSOUND delegate passes to some of our local crew including Che Burns and his manager Ben Russoniello, Jack Raymond, as well as supporting Little Forest, in partnership with Noosa Council, to get amongst one of the biggest gatherings of the music industry in Australia.

Those passes help open the door to days of conferences, workshops, industry events and networking, putting our local artists and their teams in rooms with managers, agents, labels, festivals, publishers, media and music industry people from across Australia and around the world. 🤝

And we were right there with them!

There’s a real buzz building in our region; incredible artists, passionate industry people, new opportunities and a community that wants to see our music scene thrive.

Part of SCMIC’s job is making sure that buzz travels beyond our own backyard. 📣

We came home with plenty of new connections, conversations to follow up and ideas for what comes next.

Sunshine Coast music is making some noise and we’re making sure people are hearing it.

Working on this campaign I find myself getting goosebumps every time I watch her videos.

Jacoténe has announced her first ever national tour; a three-day run across BNE, SYD, MEL.

It's selling fast so I definitely recommend getting in quick if you want tix. Come find me at the Brizzie show.

Absolutely floors me every time I watch this clip 😭 I'm beyond grateful to have been asked to help on this campaign and seeing early sales fly like this has been super rewarding in a difficult climate for tix.

Huge thanks to NOiZE GROUP for putting your trust in me again on this one, and my bffs at Cult, I'm feeling pretty confident we'll be slapping 'sold out' stickers on these.

Me in the car on the way to BIGSOUND: “Okay we have to make sure we get lots of industry-flexy photos for our instas.

Me today looking for something to post: “Oh man not again…”

I got like five pics and none of me, so here’s a photo someone took of some of my VERY favourite BIGSOUND buddies, on Liss’ phone 😂

It went by in a blur, I saw so many good acts, met so many incredible legends, visited so many ripper venues, shared countless hilarious moments. It’s my favourite event of the year and I think this was the best one yet.

Then I got super sick. Been bedridden since Thursday night, some sort of chest infection, so it’s been a rough crash back to reality.

Still, so worth it.

Also I got to meet Mikey Webb (the Auslan interpreter) and I can’t BELIEVE I didn’t get a pic, I’m just really not a photos gal. Of all the famous faces, it was him I really felt star-struck by 🤯✨

Next year I’m hiring someone to follow us around for press shots haha.

Open Till L8 has just dropped a new album of back-to-back bangers and his management, New Levels, brought me on board to push presaves before the album launch and drive streams from release day.

Not gonna lie we're pretty stoked with how the album's been received. We've gone global on this one and hunger for these tracks is proving borderless.

You might have seen me mostly thrashing 'round a punk or rock pit but lemme tell ya I froth hard on a filthy bass drop and I'll absolutely be hitting a live set when he's next in QLD.

Launching with a new client this week that I know a lot of my mates will be very excited about... yup, SAFIA have just announced a tour and it's only a coupla months away 🔥

Celebrating 10 years since their first record, it's been a good few years since a full Aussie run of shows for these guys so this one's gonna go off.

Presales are on today and GP tix go on sale tomorrow, word to the wise: jump on it early.

🎶 The Push Music Careers Expo is coming to Brisbane tomorrow (Tuesday 4 August), bringing together artists, managers, producers, engineers, educators and industry professionals for a full day of workshops, networking and career advice for young people looking to forge a career in the music industry.

Huge congrats to this legend on wrapping up his massive 2026 regional tour. 🤠🎸✨

This year was my first working with one of Straya's country music icons, Adam Harvey, and what a ripper!

So great to see acts bucking the trends in what's surely the most difficult time for live music at least during my years on the scene.

A few shows were a tough slog for numbers, but we clocked plenty of packed rooms and some sell-outs too, a great success overall, in very very tough times for touring.

Against cozzi-lives concerns & fuel price woes, this guy's fans still travelled from far & wide to come watch him do what he does best.

It wasn't until I started working on CMC Rocks a few years back that I realised how passionate country music fans really are.

Since then, I've worked on campaigns for Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen, Kip Moore, Morgan Evans, Ridin' Hearts Fest - now I know there's just nobody like country fans when it comes to buying tix, showing up, supporting their scene, and singing their absolute hearts out 🫶

So when a country acts hits my inbox with a tour to push, my heart leaps. I was so stoked to connect with Adam and his supportive fans made my job that much easier.

Congrats on the tour Adam, I hope you're kicking back this weekend for a coupla hard-earned cold ones 🍻 by @katie.mateus

Client love 🫶 Huge stoke to hear Boo Seeka’s WA run was a massive success.

One packed-out free show in Freo (against some pretty foul weather) and two SOLD OUT shows in Karratha and Exmouth last weekend.

I’ve been working with Ben & Jay for a coupla years now, always LOVE seeing them live, and am endlessly impressed by the teams at Cult and Untitled who book & manage Boo Seeka, they’re an absolute dream to work with at every touchpoint.

Can’t wait to get myself over to WA one day to check out all these ripper lil venues and what looks to be a bloody epic local music scene. taken in Western Australia by @katie.mateus
