Last night we celebrated the opening of ‘Nomads’ by Artist Olaf Hajek at USM. A takeover of the showroom and windows sees Hajek’s surreal and otherwordly handpainted designs for Christopher Farr Cloth, 13 new paintings and featuring USM furniture in a series of domestic settings. Hajeks wider work includes windows for Hermès, Fortnum and Mason and Printemps, amongst others. We worked with the brilliant @designanthology_uk and Editor in Chief @echoppin to host a Q&A with Olaf on his work and inspiration from travel, cultural references such as symbols, colours and a varied, creative career. Today we celebrate @royalcopenhagen with a 5-page feature in FTHTSI @fthtsi Financial Times Design Special - also a PR first for me after 26 years in the game! We exposed the factories just outside of Copenhagen where from sketches to moulds - glazing, delicate hand painting - the celebrated porcelain is created, all by hand with skill and techniques developed, honed and applied for over 250 years. An interview and photoshoot with Creative Director, @jaspertoronnielsen - ex Burberry, Tom Ford, Givenchy - explores the moves to a more contemporary stance for the brand whilst protecting and celebrating the heritage and cultural appeal of the pieces, both amongst Dane’s and globally. The feature - brilliantly written and detailed by @francescaperry_editorwriter reveals the wider business model which includes Wedgewood and Georg Jensen, and Jaspers philosophical approach to carving out a niche through building trust within his team but already with expansive moves such as the introduction of homeware in 2025. @altar_east a new listening space, bar and club opens on October 23; the interiors have been designed by me. There’s a lot to do but full exposé coming soon. Altar is part of a thriving scene in Leytonstone, replacing a well-known musical haunt in the area. The collective behind the venue are making moves in East London with an evolving portfolio of venues and projects. Last week we made sweet music at the London flagship of @usmmodularfurniture with USM RECORD SHOP and my first curated event for the brand. The launch of the USM integrated speakers from @symbolaudio to the UK market looked like the transformation of the ground floor of the showroom, into a Record Shop for the week of @l_d_f_official - and actually open now until October 2nd. USM produces storage for vinyl, designed originally by Symbol for the music and design enthusiast. Trolleys, shelving and stands are presented in the iconic yellow We worked with London’s @thevinylfactory vinyl press and curator, the mothership of @180.studios @phonicarecords on content for the pop-up - including vinyl, books, posters and DJ’s @emblaconneely @haseebiqbal_ & @libertyrjoy Our partners for the Late Night party were cult collaborative and design blog @hypebeastuk & @hypeform who joined us for a talk on the origins of Hi-Fi in relation to music and design, chaired by the brilliant @alicemorby with @walkertovin Hasseb Iqbal and USM’s Oliver Berger. In the fresh Swedish winter of 2025, @formuswithlove opened the doors to one of the most memorable in the ongoing series of live-lab installations called ‘Testing Grounds’. Here the Swedish design studio explore the different ways in which we work, and how design influences and is influenced by evolving work-scapes, believing that human interaction and community is the basis of a thriving design scene. ‘Testing Grounds Bistro’ saw the studio transform their waterfront space into a working restaurant by night and café by day, with curated sittings and a Michelin star local chef with talks and events - all encouraging conviviality and providing the perfect platform to do business. New products came in the form of chairs for @plushalle a series of lights for @blondlighting and of course the infamous Center Center storage system, now produced by @stringfurniture Our next Testing Grounds opens very soon.. stay tuned for more #work #design #furniture #workfutures #swedish by @katie___richardson

Fritz Hansen Sound Club opened yesterday in London, a one-off global event during the London Design Festival. First revealed during 3daysofdesign 2026, Fritz Hansen Sound Club is a multi-space installation exploring how sound shapes the way that furniture, light and materials can be experienced in interior settings. The installation sees designs from the archive, new designs for Autumn/Winter 2026, and an overarching, Bauhaus-inspired feel to each setting, with earthy tones, natural materials and mood lighting. Set across four domestic listening scenes within the London showroom in Farringdon, Fritz Hansen Sound Club considers how sound can characterise a space. To celebrate its 90th anniversary, a limited-edition KAISER idell ™ Luxus lamp and Technics – SL 40CBT turntable in matching burgundy, are the centrepiece for each setting and listening moment – showing how sound and light together shape everyday life. In 2023 I worked with Swedish acoustics brand @bauxdesign on a major installation for @clerkenwelldesignweek - bringing a project that had been previewed earlier that year in Stockholm, to London and with a new - and very colourful twist. The exhibition and Acoustic Lounge, dedicated to the future of Architecture, Interior design and wellness saw the exterior designed by the superb designer and artist, @moragmyerscough inviting her to express her celebrated style and creativity, in an exterior feature wall to the Lounge. The installation sat in St John’s Square and with 6 panels created from large Wood Wool tiles in Morag’s choice of patterns and custom colours,demonstrating the versatility and creative potential of BAUX. Eight students from Scandinavia’s finest Architectural Institutes, were invited by BAUX, to explore how buildings of tomorrow can actively nurture productivity and wellbeing. The concepts were presented for Clerkenwell, in the free-standing installation / exhibition, co-designed by BAUX and Swedish design studio, @formuswithlove My role was to source and commission the designer, project manage the CDW installation and oversee global PR, as well as organise cocktails and traditional oysters and champagne, with DJ duties from @djneilpierce The project became the most visually arresting and covered by press for CDW 2023, all thanks to a brilliant team at BAUX led by @nikigynnerstedt & Fredrik Franson 📷 @katie___richardson #swedishdesign #CDW #London #design #colour by @katie___richardson

My work with Swedish design studio, Form Us With Love @formuswithlove includes global PR and support on ideas generation, for the their annual Testing Grounds installation - an ongoing exploration into the evolution of work and the relationship between work, and design. The event is also a platform for new designs and collaborations from the studio. For 2026 the theme was ‘Showroom’ with the waterfront space transformed into a living lab, for new designs, shown in a curated, working context and posing the question - what is a showroom today? Content included workshops and dinners, talks and parties - the idea being to build community, context and do business - particularly important for the Stockholm scene, given the recent move to biannual, for the official Fair and Design Week. ‘Testing Grounds Showroom’ included the launch by FUWL of a new textile, designed in collaboration with Dutch tech and textile pioneers, @byborre upholstered onto the now-iconic Spine chair designed for @savoofficeseating Other collabs included: @bauxdesign @formingfunction.se @stringfurniture @tarkettofficial All made possible by the genius Rockstar minds of @jonaspetterpettersson John Löfgren @heygin 🇸🇪 📷 @katie___richardson #swedish #design #fuwl #workfutures taken in Stockholm, Sweden by @katie___richardson

For the past 8 years I have worked with Danish furniture brand, Fritz Hansen as the PR for the UK market. This year the brand has focused on sound in the context of the design of spaces - the centre of this is a collaboration with Japanese audio pioneers, Technics. 2026 marks the 90th anniversary of iconic Bauhaus lamp KAISER idell - coordinated, limited editions of both lamp and technics turntable are presented in a shared, deep burgundy finish and will launch to the public in October. Fritz Hansen Sound Club launched during @3daysofdesign in June at the Flagship store as a takeover of both store and courtyard, with a series of room sets, inviting guests to experience how sound plays out in varying domestic scenarios - each curated with new and archive pieces from the Fritz Hansen collections and with the turntable and lamp, as centrepieces. Podcasts, merchandise and parties saw crowds gather for what was the most memorable and impactful annual presentations to date. For the @l_d_f_official Fritz Hansen Sound Club comes to London.
