Today marks two years to the day my Mom passed away. A two-month illness changed us forever. Both of my Grandmothers lived to almost 100 - this is what we had naively expected - the older years where we got to see cute little old Mom, care for her, long walks arm in arm, arriving to college graduations early to ensure she had the very best seat, traveling more together, counting on her sturdy and thoughtful advice - that someone to call who could not wait to hear about the kids first days, first loves, first heartbreaks - the future big moments - engagements, weddings, holidays and regular everyday wins and losses- she is no longer here for the next chapters. My sisters and I say all the time- we miss having a Mom and we miss our Mom. The years are passing so slowly and quickly at the same time. We have found a new closeness - all of us - including a new role with my Dad. My parents were undoubtedly each other’s main character and a dynamic duo. So, grieving this loss has been collective but totally unique for each of us at our stages of life and unique relationship with Mom - mourning how wonderful we all had it and what could have been.

The profoundness of the loss has led to many realizations. The recognition that my Mom gave us so much more than we even knew when she was alive - strength, good values, creative superpowers, independence, quiet confidence, endless curiosity and so much more. I now truly understand that this is what a legacy is... the versions of you that are left behind - the ingrained, the lessons, the traditions, the details, the feelings, the unconditional love. My Mom left us a powerful legacy - her paintings adorn the walls of all our homes, her voice in our heads, her “way” and the beautiful list goes on. We have grappled with this, stuck together, made new memories, and proceeded forward - it’s the only option. I am endlessly proud of my Dad and my sisters and I know she would be too. Brooklyn Summer 2026 internship program🥺 @twelvenyc
Led by our dynamic People Ops team; we set out to reimagine this program for Summer 26. Covid and the years that followed disrupted the ability to truly invest in-person. This year we set out to revamp the program and lay the ground work for big initiatives ahead. I am very passionate about this program and the possibilities it holds.

Feeling incredibly grateful for it all - the adventures, discoveries, advice, pivots, restarts, wins, challenges, layers, color, dogs, friendships, midwest, family, support, creativity, great teachers, nature, brilliance, laughter, late nights, beauty, kindness, NYC, 70’s Italian vintage, anyone who is good to my kids, my bed, lipstick, good health, solutions, stories, traveling, hotels, good doctors, being a redhead, hot baths, morning coffees, leopard print, talented people, old friends and new friends, sisters, my Mom’s paintings, fresh flowers, generosity, my career journey, my 4 kids, LOVE and dreams - big big dreams. I was lucky to be raised by parents who encouraged me to dream BIG, forge my own path, find a window when a door closes and truly gave me the wings to fly. Imagine what the next 50 will bring.
