POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

#12daysto60 🍋 Grateful to have had amazing mentors who poured into me when I was just an aspiring journalist with a huge dream of working in TV news. Special shoutout to @madelynewoods for returning my phone call after stalking you, fan girling and recording every episode of you on BET 😅, @arthelneville for also returning my phone call and mailing me copies of your resume and resume tape for a class assignment in which I received an A+ for 🙌🏽, @stepfredla2.0 for taking me under your wings and letting me shadow you during my internship at Fox 26, @bfrancis86 for letting me tag along with you on stories daily and taking the time to shoot standups for me, picking me up late at night even after your long days at work to bring me back to the station to video me reading scripts from the news desk and spending countless hours editing and putting together my resume tape, which ultimately lead to me landing my dream job working in TV news and interviewing some pretty cool people along the way! And last, but certainly not least the super talented and now retired @josegrinan for helping me write my first news stories when I landed my first job and had no clue what I was doing. I can’t thank these amazing journalists, now lifelong friends enough. Each of you, are the reason I love working with interns today or anyone who aspires to do what I do. Thank you!! 💛 #CountdownTo60 #dreamsdocometrue by @katrinahaggersmith

#9daysto60 🍋 It is said, Mark Twain once quoted, “Find a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” Well, I am proud of the business I launched after my TV news career back in 2001, combining my background in public relations, work in the media and gift of gab to start Sports Media Edge which started out as a boutique media training company providing media training and public relations to professional athletes and teams in the NFL and NBA. Now, SME has evolved into so much more. One of the biggest highlights in my business was being featured in Essence Magazine for the media training I provide to professional athletes. This week we’re at Super Bowl in New Orleans working with NFL Alumni, Eric Dickerson, Al Smith, Brad Hopkins, Brian Mitchell, Chris Johnson, Lendale White and Warren Moon to name a few. As the saying goes, “Build it, and they will come.” #Grateful #Thankful #Blessed #CountdownTo60 #February15 by @katrinahaggersmith

#11daysto60 🍋 Grateful for the skills I acquired in my TV news career and the opportunity to use them to transition into commercial acting which afforded me the chance to work with all three of my children and launch their commercial acting paths. I’ve also been blessed to be cast in two major movies, an appearance in a hit television series (all of which I still get residuals for today and these were shot as far back as 18 years ago) and continued requests to audition or simply booked. After 30 years, I have yet to take one acting class. God is good! 🙌🏽 #countdownto60 by @katrinahaggersmith

It’s kinda chic to be celebrating 25 years of Sports Media Edge. 🩶
What began in 2001 as media training for professional athletes in the NFL and NBA has grown into work spanning marketing, public relations, personal branding and social strategy.

Most recently, that work took me to Harlem to help launch a sickle cell awareness and education initiative in partnership with @nflalumni and @genetix_biotx, including conversations about gene therapy and what may be possible for families living with the disease.

Decided to jump in on the latest trend after seeing my sister, @kwarren812 post. 😅

The prompt....

Please draw the character in the image, ‘your name’, in a free and stripped sketch style. On a bright white background, freely distribute full-body drawings, face close-ups, small scribbles, full-body sketches and chibi/deformed versions, so that the page conveys the character’s humor and personality. Don’t do it like an organized character sheet, but like a sketchbook full of information drawn at will by an illustrator and then stacked.

Use everything ChatGPT knows about me from our conversations, including my personality, habits, strengths, quirks, profession, and overall vibe, to imagine how an illustrator would interpret me as a character.

After the first version in the second slide 👉🏽 looked nothing like me….I uploaded a current photo and scolded her… then entered “That looks nothing like me. This is me. No caricature…make it look like a true image of me sketched out by a professional artist. 🤣

BAMM! Not bad! 🍋
