We're partnering with @moonshotinitiative to give one #MadeinNY Fellow the chance to pitch their TV pilot script to @HBO, @Netflix and more as part of the Moonshot Pilot Accelerator!

The NYC Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment is proud to support this initiative to increase representation of women and gender-expansive folks in writers' rooms and on screen.

Alums have sold projects to production companies they met through the Moonshot Pilot Accelerator, gotten staffed in writers' rooms, and received representation!

How does it work? Submit your application by this coming Wednesday, May 27. The 6-8 selected fellows — one of which is GUARANTEED to be a NYC resident — will receive 3 weeks of industry training, learning directly from development execs, showrunners, a speech coach, a manager, an agent, and an entertainment lawyer.

Then, they’ll pitch one-on-one to major studios, production companies and representatives including Netflix, HBO, @levelforward, @atlanticpictures, @kaleycuoco's Yes Norman Productions, and many more to be announced!

Plus, all semi-finalists get their scripts read by two industry judges — showrunners, series creators and high-level TV writers looking for talent!

Learn more and apply by May 27 at the link in our bio. https://www.moonshotinitiative.org/pilot-accelerator by @katrinamedoff

Applications are OPEN for the Moonshot Pilot Accelerator, where our selected fellows have the opportunity to pitch their TV pilot scripts to HBO, Netflix and many more studios, production companies, agents, managers, and producers.

They’ll be well-prepared for Pitch Week, because they’ll first receive 3 weeks of pitch training and industry workshops!

Plus, all semi-finalists’ scripts are read by 2 industry judges — showrunners, series creators and high-level TV writers looking for new talent.

We’re so excited to have “Pitch Your TV Pilot” bus shelter ads and LinkNYC promos all over New York City, because this year, we’ll have a “Made in NY” Fellow — a guaranteed spot for an NYC resident thanks to @madein_ny! (Not in NYC? Don’t worry — all other fellow spots are open to writers around the world!)

This program supports gender equity on screen and in writers’ rooms.

More info + application at the link in our bio!

Plus, attend our 4/20 info session (free and virtual!) to learn more!

Come with us to make 5 short films simultaneously, from kickoff to premiere!

🎬 Kickoff Party: Crews met for a casual hang with their teammates — all previously strangers that we vetted and placed onto 5 crews!

🎬 Writer/Director Orientation: A practice run for our creative teams’ collaborative process!

🎬 Pre-Production Meeting: Orientation for all 150 participants, and then breaking out into 5 crews for pre-production meetings! Thanks to @broadwaystages

🎬 Genre Reveal: We pulled a different genre out of a hat for each team! The genres were sci-fi/dystopian, time travel, fairy tale, horror, and crime caper/heist.

🎬 Equipment Pickups: Our crews picked up their equipment, generously donated by @hudsytv @abelcine @gothamsound @cinelease @luxlighting @lightbulb_rentals and thanks to @rollinstudios.official for helping with production insurance!

🎬 Filming (Friday and Saturday): We filmed across NYC! Our Hudson Valley shoot (Team Mira) is not pictured as our board member visited that set instead of our founders!

🎬 Editing (Sunday)

🎬 Equipment Returns

🎬 Premiere Screening!! Moonshot was on the marquee, and we had a packed premiere screening at the 479-seat @svatheatre

Thanks for joining us on this exciting journey!

Thank you to @nyscouncilonthearts @artiststhrive1 @amplifyherfoundation @wbd for supporting this program!

Tonight’s the night!! We’re premiering the 5 short films we produced for the @moonshotinitiative Film Challenge at the beautiful @svatheatre! We got hundreds of applications, selected 166 participants, and put together 5 crews of all strangers to write, shoot, and edit a short film with cinema-quality gear provided by our sponsors. We’re so proud of these films and these filmmakers, and we hope you can join us for an evening of films, wine, and a dessert reception!
