A little poetry in motion 🌸 Inspired by the elegance of ballet, Cath Kidston’s Waiting in the Wings collection finds its way into the rehearsal studio, where @londonballerina brings its delicate designs to life through a specially choreographed dance by @katya_bourvis_. Each fluttering movement was inspired by Cath Kidston's print of the season - a swirl of butterflies, hand-painted over 30 hours by Head of Creative, Holly Marler. A celebration of the beauty of movement and the creativity that connects fashion and dance. 🌸 In partnership with @cathkidston #TheRoyalBallet #CathKidston #Ballet #RoyalBalletAndOpera by @katya_bourvis_
Got some big BRASS news for you! So let me blow my trumpet 🎺 at you for just a mo! The beautiful folk at Londons @barbicancentre have given me a takeover weekend! 23/24 Oct. And the first night is kicking off with a return performance (although slightly adapted) of my 2017 album ‘Mary Casio: Journey to Cassiopeia’ 🚀 I know a lot of you loved that record and the last time it was performed with live brass was 2018 with Tubular Brass!! @realworldrec re-released the vinyl earlier this year AND secretly for the past few years, creators and dancers @talaleeturton & @katya_bourvis_ have been quietly transforming the album into a completely new dance experience with a big troupe of talent and I can’t quite believe the premiere is already in 3 weeks time! The live brass will be performed by the insanely good @zoneonebrass led by @wardymusic and tbh, I couldn’t be happier that the record is seeing some light again. Tickets are nearly sold out!!! I cannot begin to tell you how amazing the choreography and dancers are, it’s very emotional and full of beauty, so please let this long post lead you to either snapping up the last remaining tickets in London for the night of 23rd Oct, listening to the record again… or if you tune into @bbcradio3 next weekend, I’ll be on air again for 9 episodes of our 2nd series in ‘Brass Banding’ with me Hp!!! 🎺 🎺 🎺 So go go @redrobinproductions and amazing agent manager team @newformmusic and @randommusicmgmt We got this!! Stay tuned for more HP x Bw shots by @yorktillyer Visuals by @dancon_1.2 by @katya_bourvis_
A few weeks ago, Ballet d’Jèrri’s choreographer, Katya Bourvis, led a week of Lé Craque-nouaix (The Nutcracker) community workshops at the Jersey Opera House. In Part 1, we’re taking a look back at our adult workshops, where participants explored movement and choreography inspired by Katya’s new interpretation of this much-loved classic. The sessions offered a glimpse into the creative process behind the production, while giving participants the opportunity to discover, create and perform together. It was wonderful to welcome members of our community into the studio and to see such enthusiasm, curiosity and creativity throughout the week. Thank you to everyone who joined us, we hope you enjoy a glimpse into the workshops. 📍 Jersey Opera House 📅 Lé Craque-nouaix (The Nutcracker) | 27–29 November 2026 #BalletDJèrri #LeCraquenouaix #TheNutcracker #JerseyOperaHouse #CommunityWorkshops by @katya_bourvis_
Rehearsals for Lé Craque-nouaix (The Nutcracker) are underway. Over the coming months, the dancers, creative team and community cast will continue bringing Katya Bourvis’ new interpretation of this much-loved classic to life. Inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann’s original story and set to Tchaikovsky’s celebrated score, the production offers a thoughtful new perspective while honouring the timeless traditions of The Nutcracker. We look forward to sharing this special production with audiences at the Jersey Opera House this November. 📍 Jersey Opera House 📅 27–29 November 2026 #BalletDJèrri #LeCraquenouaix #TheNutcracker #JerseyOperaHouse #JerseyCI by @katya_bourvis_

Supported by the Government of Jersey Two duets from Flux, Katya Bourvis’ debut work for Ballet d’Jèrri. Based on the Jersey witch trials of the 16th century, we follow the protagonist from a mythical state of primal power through to persecution at the hands of her oppressors: a woman silenced and wrongly accused for her untamed spirit in a society demanding conformity. Flux explores the darker side of humanity, as well as the desires, instincts and fears that are often relegated to the depths of the unconscious. #internationaldraftworks2026 #flux #balletdjerri #contemporarydance #dancephotographeruk by @katya_bourvis_
Duet created in collaboration with the fabulous @annada1y and @donodm. Inspired by original text from the Malleus Maleficarum and Handel’s Orlando. Swipe to the end for the inaugural cackle and me as a tired floating head. ‘carnal lust…fickle dispositions… gossipy habits…a desirable disaster’ Malleus Maleficarum Ho un certo rossore
Che m’ingombra la fronte,
E nel petto mi sento
Un insolito ardore.
Che sarà? Non lo so. I have a certain blush
That clouds my brow,
And in my breast I feel
An unusual heat.
What can it be? I do not know Orlando, Music Handel, words Braccioli adapted from Ariosto. Flux Choreography: Katya Bourvis

Duet from Flux danced by and created in collaboration with the incredible @tabidombo and @stanyoungg Shadow Play from research, to studio, to stage Through me you go into a city of weeping; through me you go into eternal pain; through me you go amongst the lost people. Inferno,The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri The adders responded by slithering over her bosom, hissing and spewing gore, flicking their tongues in and out. Unknown. Everyone carries a shadow, and the less it is embodied in the individual’s conscious life, the blacker and denser it is. Carl Jung Choreography: Katya Bourvis
