The stars aligned for Katy & Andy 🤍 From the moment I met these two, I knew we were kindred spirits. They are two of the kindest, most caring souls, and seeing them get married on Saturday was such a joy. They couldn’t stop smiling all day long, and neither could I, watching it all unfold. It was the most beautiful autumnal day at Middleton Lodge, with golden sunshine pouring over the gardens at the Fig House. Rich burgundy tones, romantic florals and soft candlelight created the most beautiful setting. Katy has such an incredible eye for the look and feel of a day, and every detail came together so naturally, creating a wedding that felt both timeless and effortlessly elegant. I am so excited to share my brand redesign with you… The past two years have seen me go through a process of refinement. A winnowing down - of what my images are, in not only their look but the feeling they give. A process of answering the question - how can I communicate exactly who I am? Because two decades as a wedding photographer have given me so much. Expertise, knowledge, and intuition honed over this period had led me to such a place of plenty… But ‘plenty’ can be overwhelming. An overflow of inspiration had broken down into smaller, diverse rivulets, running away from me - all with their own flow. A flow that wasn’t mine. These past two years have seen me unite these currents, and bring them back into their own powerful, defined course. A course I set, surging with two decades of experience, rather than scattered by it. My work holds space; a warm space of quiet luxury. A tranquil, gracious space where we can breathe, and be. My work needs space to tell its story. A space where empathy and kindness are held at the core, whilst we create the photographs that really speak of your soul - radiant yet refined, emotive, elusive, and elegant. A quietly beautiful wedding at Grantley Hall. Livv and Ellis celebrated their wedding surrounded by their closest people - a day that felt beautifully understated, deeply personal and completely them. There was such a lovely sense of calm about the two of them. Completely comfortable in their own world, with a quiet confidence that carried through the whole day. The grandeur of Grantley Hall provided the most beautiful setting - the Music Room filled with candlelight, exquisite creams and white florals, and those incredible painted ceilings and antique details creating an atmosphere that felt both elegant and wonderfully intimate. But it was the quieter moments that stayed with me most. A hand held, a look across the room, a kiss when nobody was really watching. Those little pieces of a wedding day that you can’t manufacture, and that somehow mean everything. A truly soulful wedding, full of beauty, warmth and feeling. If you’re getting married at Hotham Hall, save this one. 🤍 A little glimpse into Hotham Hall last autumn. I wanted to create something that felt elegant, fashion-led and timeless, while allowing the architecture, interiors and gardens to do what they do so beautifully. Soft autumn light. Old stone. Beautiful gowns. A little movement. A lot of atmosphere. This was a styled editorial rather than a real wedding, but it was created with a real wedding in mind - imagining how I would photograph a bride here, from those quiet moments on the staircase to portraits outside, the veil catching the light and the photographs that happen when you simply forget you’re being photographed. Because I don’t want your wedding photographs to feel like a collection of poses. I want them to feel like you. Editorial when it deserves to be. Romantic without being overly sweet. Beautifully composed, but never stiff. And full of the little moments you’ll want to remember long after the day itself has gone. Hotham Hall is such a beautiful setting for this kind of photography, and after creating this editorial here, I’d absolutely love the opportunity to photograph a real wedding at the Hall.
