Excited to be showing this new work, Cedar 2, oil on aluminum, for Assembly Art Fair with J Rinehart Gallery this week in Seattle at West Canal Yards. I started this series last year, looking to the plant world for solace during these troubling times. I really love how the color turned out, with a combination of hues that is both dark and soft, the reds and blues like our veins and arteries.

The last day to see my show Terrains is tomorrow, November 8th! @ryanleegallery 515 W.26th St, NYC. The wall becomes the canvas as I create cascading, draping and repeating shapes alluding to elements of the natural world. These symbols of grace, grief, and strength create space for contemplation and reflection. by @katystone.art

Thrilled to announce my show "Terrains" opens tonight at RyanLee, NYC, 6 to 8 pm. This new body of work contemplates the natural world as both a literal and poetic landscape. I imagine forests, ponds, reflections, and clouds as metaphors for emotional states and collective experience in the present age. Please join me if you're in town!
Oct 9th through Nov 8th.

I improvised this installation on site over the course of two days at J Rinehart and love how it turned out. Made from painted duralar, hand-cut polypaper, mylar ribbon, and pins, it is an exploration of color, form, and layering that engages the wall and the floor. Tranparency and shadow are an integral part of the work.

I'm thrilled to be featured in a group show this month @jrinehartgallery along with @jaqchartier and @emily_gherard. "Cameo", painted duralar film and hand-cut paper, ribbon, pins, shadow projections. The show opens today! 2 to 4 pm. by @katystone.art

“My work explores materiality, phenomena and beauty. I use industrial materials that are lightweight, that call attention to themselves as surfaces. Everything I choose is a thin thing. I paint, cut and layer these surfaces into constructions that blur the boundaries between drawing, painting and sculpture. My pieces capture a kind of monumentality and at the same time a feeling of transience. They brim with dualities: organic/synthetic, micro/macro, real/ imaginary, moving/still. Everything is itself and something else. Clouds, light, branches, waves: the recurring natural forms and forces I evoke are allusions of elemental power and symbols of transformation.”
