POSTS STORIES REELS
Live looping and strings show this past February 🌸 It honestly feels weird posting about this, given everything happening right now in our country and our world. I’d like to believe that this art we make is pushing the world towards a slightly brighter direction, but in the face of so much tragedy, it feels really difficult to do so. I’ve been finding some solace in a book I’ve been reading called Orwell’s roses. “Vermeer worked in a turbulent, war-plagued time, and that the pressure of all that violence is what those paintings are all about, but that they are about it by being its opposite, about the peace we crave in times of war, the stillness and uproar, about the persistence of the every day and its beauty”. let us continue to help each others in whatever ways we can, but never forget the beautiful things in life that energize us to keep going through so much uncertainty. thank you to our secret venue, @jamesloosey for such expressive lights, @local_spice for the stunning photos, @hnoobs and @matildeheckler for incredible live strings, @priyaonstage for a co-organizing an unforgettable collaboration. Grateful to have raised some money to send to @angryasianwomxn for the work making ICE resistance kits, providing information about and aid to the continued Palestinian struggle, the Iranian bombings…god, there’s too much happening. Everyone, sending deepest love. stay strong and support each other ♥️ by @kay.tear
tiny desk 2026 :) peep the horn adlibs ! tx to christina on keys, liana on bass, skye on bass clarinet, will morocho on sop sax, aki on drums, zora on camera. sheesh, yall are so talented. honored to play with u ♥️ by @kay.tear
some more tips: - to make the synth more glitchy, i sidechained it to the drums on top of the ring mod. this is a pretty common technique used in edm production! - shakers are king for full rnb and pop moments. so subtle but add so much nice texture - drum bussss and saturator!! 👍🏼 - 8th note delay makes anything sound dreamy. i love this effect on piano cuz it makes my playing sound so much fuller even if i don’t play that fast 🥰 #musicproduction #ableton #explore #selfproduced #femaleproducer by @kay.tear

“yesterday” is out :) it came one day when i was ruminating in bed the past, not fully living life. but its creation has yielded many incredible memories, im grateful that music has the power to do that. thank u @scoyoh for the violin improv that made the song finally take on a direction. it’s still be stuck in demo stage were it not for your ears ♥️ thank u @nezerat_ for helping me find that iconic string sound that makes the song so sparkly. bubbles is my favorite sound for all time. hehe🫧 thank u @zhangbo0216 for the super subtle bass that glues the whole track together. it’s the thing that made me feel like the song was ready to release! thank u @eryngiirecords for believing in the release and helping me put it out in the world, on a legit schedule. and for every piece of advice and encouragement on this crazy industry 🌞 thank u @subaktheband for bringing this song to life last night!! in such a unforgettable live performance ☺️ mixing, mastering, recording, singing by kay tear :D #newmusic #artpop by @kay.tear
