Changing my mindset around gray hair has been an absolute game changer for me behind the chair. I’m so happy I was intuitively pushed to start tossing away bits and pieces of what I’ve always known & done to start giving my clients this kind of result, one that they won’t just get sitting in anyone’s chair. In 15 years I’m the busiest I’ve ever been and I truly believe it’s because I started putting my heart & soul into delivering results vs doing a job 🤍

Gray blending is my favoriteeeeee and it’s so simple! It truly isn’t anything groundbreaking - just using products we’re already using a bit differently and breaking a few rules.

Inspired by a conversation with a fellow stylist this am!

We’ve all had this complaint at one point or another in our chair: “my color washed out already”

I’m not saying it’s never happened - a bad formulation could for sure cause this and there’s ALWAYS room for nuance.

But 9 times out of 10 that white stripe you see is actually your new growth. And if you haven’t seen your natural hair in 30 years chances are you’re not used to seeing pure white up there - but the more time that passes the whiter those lil friends become 🙃

This is why I encourage formulating in a way that will mitigate the harsh line of regrowth. We can’t stop it, but we can help it along 🤝

This video is to introduce you to the concept of what to aim for in order to maximize your clients’ gray & work with it vs against it. On behalf of all of us who hate the internet but love what we do - I present to you an explanation of why we’re not always trying to be robotic and salesy, but just trying to genuinely help while spending a little time glued to our phones as possible 😀

Sometimes I’ll throw a link in the comments just to avoid having to say it lol. But it truly comes down to this:

people will use this as a manipulative sales tactic to back you into something that you weren’t aware it came with a price tag or a subscription, get you on an email list, etc.

And some people will use it to literally just answer the question without having to manually copy and paste a link to 100 people.

My point is: don’t let the latter annoy you because of the first group of people 😂
