The hair industry is still divided and no one’s saying it out loud. ❓

There is still a segregation in the hair industry, textured vs straight and no, that doesn’t mean race. Simply hair, if you have a straight/wavy texture you go to one salon and if you have curly/coily hair you go to another. ↔️

I’ve always struggled with that concept and that’s why I welcome and educate on all hair types because as a hair stylist that IS MY JOB.

I totally understand that it all starts from what and how you’re taught but the hair education system needs to be more inclusive. I have a level 2 and a level 3 NVQ in hairdressing for European and Afro Hair.

HOWEVER…the Afro aspect was done on a dolls head? Hardly any hands on experience/teaching on textured hair.

By running my salon, I hope that me and my team can make a different and see more salons open their doors to all hair types.❤️

As me & my business grow I feel like the journey is so important! 🚶🏻‍♀️🚘

We often forget how far we’ve come and where we started, so here’s a little bit about me and I hope it inspires someone to take the leap and dive into something new! ✨

I studied hair in college back in 2016 and passed my level 2 and then progressed onto my level 3 🏅

Working in 3 different salons previously, I gained different qualifications and skills including Balmain system volume and tape extensions. 📝

I was looking for a balance of both European and textured hair, but there just aren’t enough salons offering mixed service’s. ⚖️

Unfortunately there’s still segregation within the hair industry - That’s when @tropicshairandbeauty became an idea 💡🌴

Imagine starting your girls’ retreat with two hours of sound healing, Reiki, cacao, manifestation & pure connection… ✨

Our gorgeous Tricia from @the_lodge_wellness_centre gave us a night we’ll genuinely never forget. From ceremonial cacao, Reiki and healing to angel cards, journaling, manifestation, breathwork and the most incredible immersive sound bath, every part of the evening was designed to help us slow down, open up and connect. 🧘🏼‍♀️✨

There were tears, lots of hugs, laughter and some incredibly honest conversations. Most of the girls were only just getting to know one another, but within those two hours we learnt so much about each other. Walls came down, friendships started forming and we created such a safe space for one another from the very first night. 🥹💕

Tricia even arrived with roses and crystal bracelets for the girls. By the end of the evening, she had officially become our retreat mum and honestly, we LOVE this woman. 🌹💕

Hand on my heart, if you’re planning a retreat, event or looking for a beautiful wellness experience for yourself, I couldn’t recommend Tricia enough. She didn’t just deliver a wellness session - she helped set the energy for our entire retreat and became such a special part of the experience. ✨

This is what CBCK retreats are all about - bringing women together, creating experiences that go deeper than content, and giving girls the space to connect, grow and step into the highest versions of themselves. 💕
