To my sweet Katherine,You are only a handful of months old, yet it already feels impossible to remember life before you.Before you arrived, I spent so much time wondering who you would be. What your face would look like. Whether you’d have my eyes or your dad’s smile. I imagined holding you, but nothing could have prepared me for the reality of loving you.I love feeling your tiny breath against my skin when you fall asleep on me. I love waking up with you throughout the night and exchanging sleepy smiles - moments that belong only to us.I love that you’re learning how to give kisses, even if you’ve only mastered “mouth-to-cheek” and they’re mostly slobber.I love that all you want to do is stand and jump and move and fly. And I love how proud of yourself you are when you roll over or stand. Your whole face lights up when you realize what you’ve accomplished!. I especially love the way you ask us to lift you into the air—arms stretched wide, up on your tippy toes, your whole body saying, “Again!” .I will never forget the moment you placed your tiny hand on top of Mommy and Daddy’s hands while we were embracing. You are intuitive.I love our lengthy conversations in baby babble language. You seem genuinely surprised and excited that I speak baby babble too. You listen so intently and pause thoughtfully before responding. I have no idea what we’re saying, but I love knowing you feel seen and heard.You have so much to say!Continued 👉I love that you eventually miss me when I leave to take care of myself, and when I hold you close after I return, you immediately settle into my arms. There is no greater feeling than knowing I am your safe place.I love feeling your tiny fingers tickle my tummy while you breastfeed.I love the day you grabbed my water cup, opened your mouth, and brought it toward your face while side-eyeing me as if to say, “Me too, Mom. Like this?” Every day you seem a little more determined to do everything we do.And you are goofy as goofy can get. You already have the best sense of humor. The morning you pooped down the front of Dad and then, moments later, peed down the front of me will forever go down as one of the most hila by @kayjean_

First official trail run back 🥹A big part of my identity pre-mom life was tied to trail running. Getting all my gear together, driving to the trailhead, doing my banded warmups, and just… running — I finally felt like me again.The familiarity was exactly what I needed in this season.And I wanted to see if I could make it to Nike Missile and back… which used to be my warmup 😅2 trail miles at 10 weeks postpartum feels wild, and I’m really proud of myself. by @kayjean_

First pic was my first adidas run at strawberry peak. My first run group run. My first group trail run. And my life was never the same after that. Grateful for everyone I met along the way and the growth that came with it. Super blessed to be on a team of women to run our first ultra too. Sad to see adidas go but happy I got to experience the community and trails while it was around. Thank you @martinltorres for all your efforts in making adidas trails what it was. This era was a very memorable time in my life. by @kayjean_

Woke up really early for a hike with @runnerslosangeles 🫶 Once we reached the lookout, we tried the @strava trend!
