Same model, same 30 minutes, three different viewpoints.

Jessica, Cletus, and Kaynan each brought their own eye and approach to the challenge, translating the same subject into lines, details, and interpretations.

Orchestrated by Vomnetwork, this was an exploration of art, perspective, and what happens when different creative minds are given the same starting point.

Three artists. One subject. Three perspectives worth sitting with.

Not every African who crossed the ocean did so in chains.

"Free Passage" reclaims the story of Africans who travelled during the Renaissance as merchants, diplomats, scholars, and explorers. His European tricorn hat reflects cultural exchange, while his tribal marks, braided locs, and cowrie shells preserve where he came from.

He did not leave Africa behind. He carried it with him.

Pathfinder: Creators Of Paths Series
Title: The Centre Of Civilization
Medium:Oil On Canvas
Size:61×91 cm
Year: 2026

From the Pathfinder series, this painting captures another Pathfinder in the course of human history, a man whose birth and death came to mark the measure of time between an era of beginning and an era of an end.

His existence gave rise to followers who, even to this day, continue to live by his teachings and, in some cases, lay down their lives for their faith in him. It was recorded that he lived his life on earth without fault. Yet he was hated because of the way he lived, like God among men.

He performed miracles that, according to the accounts of his life, no one before him had done. He created a path for his followers to imitate: to live as he lived before his ascension.

They call him Yeshua, the Son of the Living God.

From the PATHFINDER series: The Creators Of Paths 1
Medium: Oil On Canvas
Size: 92×143 cm
Year: 2026

PATHFINDER I
The PATHFINDER series explores two kinds of pathfinders: the creators of paths and the restorers of paths.
This work draws inspiration from the Yoruba story of Òrúnmìlà, whose wisdom continues to guide generations. Rather than painting him directly, I created my own sage, an original character who embodies the responsibility of creating a path that outlives its creator.
To me, a pathfinder is not remembered for the road he travels, but for the road others continue to walk.
Seated in meditation, the sage reflects before taking his next step. His staff and orb symbolize wisdom, authority, and the ability to commune between worlds. Resting on his shoulder is the Squirat, a hybrid guardian that moves between civilizations, reminding us that every path begins somewhere and echoes far beyond its origin.
The contrasting violet and green landscapes represent two realities: one of limitless possibilities and another sustained by its inheritance. Hybrid life forms inhabit this world, suggesting that imagination, memory, and evolution exist together. Beside the sage lies a book, bearing witness to a life whose greatest achievement is not power, but legacy.
A pathfinder's destination is never a place. It is the people who continue to walk the path long after the pathfinder is gone.

Title:FoUnDeRs1,2,3,4
Medium:Oil On Canvas
Size:12/16 inches
Year:2026

This painting captures the resilience and persistence of the founders of the Elbowroom Art Movement. It’s a journey of what becomes possible when people come together. While an individual can spark a vision, a collective is the nitro-boost that accelerates it into reality.

Stage 1 of the second piece from the Pathfinder Series.
OIL ON CANVAS
Size :92 cm ×143 cm

This particular subject was actually inspired from the story of Orunmila of the Yoruba Mythology. I quite enjoy the similarities of Orunmila and Jesus the Messiah, which has made me want to do a deeper study and research of why they share similar traits from creation, to having disciples, and then a divine writings being handed over for their priests or those who had chosen to ensue the path they have established.
