One of my favorite parts about living in NYC is being so close to the Hudson valley and the Catskills in New York. Such a easy and lovely trip. My favorite time to go is during the summer when everything is so green and lush! #watercolor #catskills #hudsonvalley #painting by @kbailey4595

Before Mathew and I got married we took a trip up to Maine. This night in particular was a night full of deep conversation and several glasses of wine at a restaurant in Camden, Maine. After dinner we were walking back to our hotel and I remember making Mathew stop to enjoy the colors. I loved the cozy warmth of the homes in contrast to the darkening sky. The moon was shinning bright as if it was saying goodnight to us.

I grew up in southern Indiana boarding the Ohio river directly across Kentucky and even though I love New York City and the beautiful life I have built here, I like to think of the misty mornings and Kentucky skies and feel comfort there. I always say when I drive toward Calvert City, Kentucky to see my grandmother one of my favorite things to look at is the sky.
I have been missing my family a little extra lately so I painted this to feel a little closer to them ❤️
