I rate trails I’ve hiked based on how many Chicago buildings would be the equivalent in elevation gain. This trail is rated two Sears Towers, and the bouquet of pikas flanking all three lakes. Well worth dragging my ass out of bed at 3:30am to get to the trailhead at dawn by @kc_winter

ASE: nothing like ending a several week long work trip with a landing into one of the most difficult airports in North America in a shitbox CRJ. It may have looked like we were going straight into the side of a mountain during final approach but at least I got a good view of the Maroon Bells that I’m gonna spend some time this summer all up in #aspenpitkincountyairport by @kc_winter

Usually my new year begins when I fly home from CES but this year I ended up going straight into twelve days in New York, and haven’t really seen much of the sun other than from a window seat since December 27th. I spent 40 nights sleeping on the ground in 2025, and I’m hoping I can top that this year while looking at rocks, flailing around trying to climb over rocks, and wheezing around high elevation rocks by @kc_winter
