This special rite of passage recognizes their hard work, dedication, and growing skills as they learn proper bow technique. During today’s rehearsal, students proudly received their licenses, presented by Head of School Ms. Carey.

We’re so proud of our young musicians and excited to watch them continue their music journey!

Today, students in the KCD Young Strings program went on a field trip to the Louisville Orchestra’s MakingMUSIC Concert. Students explored the science of sound and how each instrument family of the orchestra makes music! They heard classics from composers including Ravel and Respighi, film music from How to Train Your Dragon, and an exciting collaborative performance by the LO’s Rap School. by @kcdorchestra

Our 5th-grade orchestra students shared their musical talents with their families and teachers during a special informal concert this afternoon! 🎻🎶 Their performance featured three pieces they’ve been working on since January, and we couldn’t be prouder of their progress, focus, and collaboration. Now they’re ready to move on to more advanced music as they prepare for the big Spring Concert. Bravo to our young musicians!
