To comply with new Kansas legislation governing communication between school employees and students on social media, we will no longer allow comments on our social media posts. If you have questions about anything we have posted, please contact us at socialmedia@kckpl.org. If you have questions about this new policy, please contact the school district communications department at communications@kckps.org.

You may be wondering why we have to implement this change. Even though we are a public library, we are governed by the KCKPS school board and must follow all school district policies.

We understand this may be an unpopular decision, as our comments and messages were a place for you to share your stories and questions with us and each other, and we loved being able to engage with you. We hope you'll continue to send us those messages through our email and in person at our branches. We are committed to continuing to provide you with great content on our social media, even if you are unable to respond to it. by @kckpubliclibrary

We have a beautiful new nest display at Schlagle, created for us by K-State Extension! 🪺🐦

The display features seven bird species found right here in our area, with incredibly realistic replica nests, complete with handmade and carefully colored eggs. They also created an Eastern Bluebird nest box to show another way we can support nesting birds outside.

The best part? The display can be taken down and used for classroom programs and hands-on teaching, and K-State Extension created informational posters to go along with it.

A huge thank you to K-State Extension for all the time and care they put into creating this amazing resource for us! by @kckpubliclibrary
