While taking down the set at the library, Joseph found himself in a closet with a special view. He stopped working long enough to take a few pictures and record the laughter. Sometimes the best moments of a production happen when you’re not even onstage. Thank you, KCKPL, and to an audience that made the evening something to remember.

We had a ROAR-some time at the Schlagel Library Trunk or Treat today! 🦖

Pharmacy of Grace loved handing out candy, meeting families, and sharing our mission. The adorable costumes (including some furry friends!) made it even more fun. Our crew (thanks @tesskcam) brought a little Jurassic Park spirit! 🦕

Thanks to Schlagel Library for a wonderful community event!

Our puppets have arrived at the library ahead of Thursday’s performance. Fin is exploring modern technology, Vic has found something worth reading, and Mani is eyeing new territory. Libraries encourage intellectual curiosity and so do we. Join us October 15 at Kansas City, Kansas Public Library. Free admission. RSVP required at Queertauqua.org/events.#queertauqua #puppets #library

Farm-made pizza, flower & herb make-and-take funshops, and birds were new to FARM FEST this year and were hits! So many highlights and so many stories to share…

Farm crew team, Kate and Sydney along with KCK Baker Patric from Purple Onion Flour Shop conjured up an amazing pizza plan and long-time FARM FEST chef Erin Bassett came through with the sauce- she made it from an assortment of community-grown tomatoes and our basil (see photo 9). Folx are still commenting on that pizza. Best ever, they say.

More than a few people spent hours at the flower & herb make & take funshops in the South 50 of Gibbs Road Farm picking zinnias, mint, lemon balm, sage, globe amaranth, goldenrod, and grape leaves from the orchard, berms & swales, and gourd tunnel there while kids climbed on and squealed for the wildland playground.

And the birds blew us away. Many thanks to Beak N Wings, Inc. for bringing their friends.

Jonas from Donderdag led the bike barn activities again and kids went off-road at Common Ground. Face painting, print making, corn husking and shelling, peace flag making, bubbles, bouncy house, and CARDBOARD VILLAGE were highlights.

MICROBES: Always and Everywhere and their humans returned and graced the dugout amphitheater. Firetrucks and a book mobile invited us in and a borrowed golf cart and CF Moto moved us around. Our good neighbors shared their spaces and many more endured the foot traffic, the ruckus, and the road closure. (We’re are thankful.)

So many community groups, farmers and makers joined; so many friends volunteered, FARMERS ON THE RISE jumped in, staff, board, and the events committee all made it happen. We carry so much gratitude.

More photos and stories coming this week.

All of the @kckpubliclibrary branches are the unsung heroes of the Kansas City metro! I love how the Main branch and West Wyandotte branch have kids areas that are separated from adult areas of the library! They also have fun and creative events happening often.

We may be a century off, but in the grand scheme of things, what’s 100 years? Briefly abandoning historical accuracy for a ’90s sitcom intro.
